A small and interesting museum with super friendly staff. The museum opened in 2009, in a 19th century building and contains more than 10 thousands fossils. The collection belonged to Miguel Barbosa and his wife Fernanda and was later donated to Sintra municipality. It is divided into three parts, a small collection at the entrance then there is the room for temporary exhibitions and finally the permanent exhibition which is a big hall exhibiting fossils, shells, minerals and rocks. The entrance is free at this time for all but normally it is free for Sintra residents and a small...

This museum has an interesting collection of fossils, as well as models of proto human skulls and dinosaur skeletons, and some semiprecious and precious stones.

Staff are friendly and there is no entrance fee. There are few elements that entertain younger visitors however, save a pair of interactive displays.

Located in the middle of the historic town of Sintra, where the roads are very narrow, parking...

Great find for kids! Small museum with free entrance and lots of fossils in an amazing exposition hall.

Very well kept with a modern look. Located in the middle of Sintra, so worth if you are already walking in the area. It took us about 45 min to see everything.

Parking is limited but there is a parking area a few hundred meters...

Small venue with one room full of dinosaur and rock exhibits. Found it by accident but turned out to be a worthwhile visit. You only need 30 minutes. Would have been good to have some English translations within the plaque descriptions for the pieces. But, I'm sounding self entitled.
