Came here two mornings in a row for breakfast and absolutely loved it. The staff were the friendliest we encountered in Sintra, helping us understand what each menu item was and explaining the history/culture behind the pastries. We were even offered free samples… on both days!! The service is exceptionally fast. In fact, I have never been to a cafe with such efficient service. The patio is lovely, on a quiet street away from the tourist centre. There are many locals coming in and out in the morning - a sure sign that it’s good. The best place in Sintra. I am the fan of ice cream. Especially pistachio. For some reason it it difficult to get a good one in many places. But here I had the best pistachio ice cream I have ever eaten. And the portions are great. Later they told me that this ice cream is hand made at their place. It explains a lot. I also tried their traditional dessert. It is definitely a must try. The quality of food is excellent. Great coffee as well. Another thing is the service. Friendly and smiling people. Came here to get lunch after exploring the Pena Palace. People were helpful while we were unsure of what to order. I appreciated their suggestions and tried a couple of items they sold. My boyfriend and I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and tried the queijada. Everything was delicious.

Also, keep in mind that you have to order in one room and pick up your food in the room next door where there are plenty of seating. Definitely...
