Aquasul — Restaurant in Tavira

Please don’t go here. I’ve been to over 20 restaurants in Tavira in the 2 weeks I’ve been here and this place ranks as the worst for 3 reasons. Go to O Tonel next door - excellent service and food.

1. The food is so so average. When I ordered the duck and asked for medium rare, they handed it to me well done to the point the duck was dry. 2) They charge more than the usual restaurant around here (think €30, you can get much better for €15). 3) The waiter made me incredibly uncomfortable. He judged me for just ordering a main, 2 drinks, and dessert - “No starters?! Just a main? Wow.” He also came back to my table just to ask me where I’m from. “Are you from Asia? Where in Asia are you from? You’re Nepalese right? You look Nepalese. My coworkers and I want to know where you’re from.” For context, I’m a Chinese American from New York. He wouldn’t leave my table until I answered his numerous questions about my “origins.” Just...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting a restaurant where the food provided a pleasant but not memorable experience. The food was definitely good, but it lacked that extra touch that truly wows you.

The atmosphere was outstanding, and a talented singer in the background contributed to a cozy ambiance that elevated the entire experience.

The service was a bit mixed. The staff had their hands full, resulting in a short wait to receive the food. Despite this, they were incredibly friendly and managed to secure a table for the two of us even though we hadn't made a reservation in advance.

Aquasul is an exceptional restaurant and well worth a visit. In the summer months you will probably need to reserve a table in advance. The interior of the restaurant is cosy and inviting and there is good use of mosaic tiles to decorate seating areas. In the summer there is also outside dining. Food is excellent and freshly prepared. Choose from the menu or the Specials Board. There are healthy salads, pizzas, and amazingly tasty meat and fish dishes. Desserts include cheesecake and apple crumble. Good choice of wine at a reasonable price. Aquasul is one of only two restaurants in Tavira where I normally order a starter, mains and dessert.
