A MUST WHEN VISITING TAVIRA. Came here after my parents recommendation and was not disappointed. Situated only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town, we came back again as the food was to die for. First night we had the gambas, fried fish with tomato rice, stewed pork rib (special) and the tuna salad. Absolutely stunning. Make sure to dash the tuna salad with Olive Oil and vinegar. Really brings out the flavours. Second time we had the special sword fish cooked in parsley and garlic butter (special) and the duck rice. Both stunning meals.

Two of our party are absolutely not adventurous eaters. They are just now (in their 60's) starting to try a bit of seafood. Whatever. Anyway, they bucked up and ordered the seafood Prato da Dia, which was chunks of nice, thick tuna steak braised with potatoes, tomatoes, and onions in a natural sauce. They loved it! We also had the pork medallions as an entree and shared appetizers of bread, olives, tuna salad, and octopus salad.
