OK, this is not on the river front and it does look as if this is just a pizza take-away...but don't judge the book by it inconspicuous cover. Just go in and you will eat an excellent home-made pizza like you probably haven't had for a long while. So we got in on the evening of 2nd September 2020, though the decor is uninspiring, it is very clean, the staff and the pizzaiolo were all very welcoming and very friendly. There are also small tables on the small street behind but we chose inside. I personally chose Sportiva which includes my all-time favourite Pizza ingredients, mozzarella, bresaola, Grana Padano shavings and rucula The dough was perfection itself and they were very generous in the amount of all the toppings which is usually rare in pizzerias, furthermore the prices are very reasonable. I really enjoyed that the pizzaiolo brushed the edge of our pizza crusts with what I suppose was a mix of water and olive oil, nice personal touch that gave an excellent crisp. Memories of Rome came rushing back suddenly. The place was soon visited by local Italians, an obvious sign of quality pizzas. Highly recommended, certainly a place we'll visit again Apologies for the delay in writing this review which I...
Read moreHonestly, I think this is my favorite pizza place outside of Italy. We came to this restaurant on our first night in Tavira, and we liked it so much that we knew we had to go back before we left. It is a small intimate space with one server working (who is friendly and efficient and always has a great big smile on his face), it is clean and cozy. It is not fancy or upscale but it is a really comfortable space for a nice meal. Everything we ate there was delicious. I highly recommend trying at least one pizza and their homemade ravioli. Their pesto is some of the best I've ever tasted, so that being said, I think my favorite pizza was the Portofino, but they were all really tasty. They aren't huge, so I recommend going with a couple people and splitting them so you can try different kinds. The dough is absolute perfection. Another MUST TRY is their tiramisu - my mother, who doesn't even like desert, was all over it. The prices are very very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. If I lived here I would be at this restaurant once a week guaranteed. Highly recommend you checking it out - great food, great people, can't get much...
Read morePoorly managed restaurant, quoted 30 minutes and ended up waiting over an hour. We placed a take out order because they had no seating available for the rest of the night. When I returned half an hour in I realised that they had mixed up the orders on the cooking line and hadn’t even started my order, so I came back 20 minutes later. At that point they hand me my order except it wasn’t my order, it was someone else’s order. I had to wait yet again and they quoted me another 15 (ended up being 25).
After the long wait they finally have my order, except it wasn’t what I ordered; they forgot to add the meat to my pizza and it wasn’t cut. Overall the pizza was a very basic Neapolitan pizza, nothing worth waiting over 15 minutes for. We ordered Carbonara pasta as well and it was definitely better than the pizza but nothing special.
Definitely won’t be coming back here, by far the worst take out experience I’ve ever...
