ZAVAGE - Cabanas de Tavira — Restaurant in Tavira

Weirdest food experience of my life so far! Service was poor, they didn’t really seem interested in us being there despite it being quiet. Almost as if it was an inconvenience.

Atmosphere was non-existent. Some music other than that nothing else.

Food was ODD. Tacos had raw carrots in them, watermelon salad was ok but no Parmesan and the tuna steak was really odd. Surely you want the star of the show on parade. Not here. It was buried under some vegetable, fries and huge chunks of raw garlic. It was also a slither! No depth to it at all. No seasoning either. If I wasn’t hungry I wouldn’t have bothered finishing it.

Who also doesn’t sell sparkling by the glass??

How this place is top 5 on trip advisor in Cabanas is beyond me. We could whip up food in the microwave better than what was on offer.

If only they put as much thought into the food and service as they did the interior. We were there for 45 mins...

Went here based on photos of their food and small yet appealing menu. Sadly our experience wasn’t great - firstly we had a toddler that we had to park in the pram as we were not offered a high chair and it’s mostly a tourist spot which is fine but we only realised that when we arrived. Secondly, the food was way below par - ordered shrimp as starter and out came a plate of the smallest shrimp, still in shells which took the pair of us ages to peel only to have very little to eat. I ordered the Juicy Lucy burger which turned out to be a frozen, store bought burger.. just really poor considering the small “specialist” style menu and promo gallery for their food online. Also no kids menu or even small portions on offer. Really disappointed, quite expensive even charged €2.80 for filtered tap water. However they did speak English and were quite fast to...

I visited shortly after 3:00 p.m. I was informed by my server that the daily special ends at 3:00 p.m. the atmosphere in the rear portion of the restaurant was so nice that I decided to stay. I'm so glad that I did, because my meal was excellent! I had a beef rump sandwich accompanied by a healthy serving of fries. I also had a cup of cappuccino that was the best I've had in quite a while My server was Raul, and he deserved a "10". The area was spotlessly clean, and casual enough that 3 tables of we diners had a great conversation! I just arrived in this area, and I'm still learning my way around, but I definitely will...
