What a hidden gem! At first, I thought I was walking into an interior design store — the sign was there, but I had to make my way through wrapped paintings and down a few stairs… and then, oh my God, heaven on earth!
There’s even a little garden outside. I started there, then decided to move inside — and I’m glad I did. Candles were softly burning, the air smelled like good coffee and calm, and a quiet couple of pilgrims were enjoying their breakfast also.
The interior is absolutely beautiful — a mix of Scandinavian simplicity and artistic warmth. Every detail feels intentional, from the lighting to the ceramics. It’s the kind of place where you instantly want to slow down and stay longer.
Prices are quite Scandinavian (let’s say familiar to those from the North 😉), but totally worth it. They even have matchai! I ordered The Granola Buzz and a coffee — both were excellent.
When I handed over my pilgrim passport to get it stamped, the barista looked surprised: “Wow, you already have so many stamps!” I said I’d been walking from Lisbon.
One of the most memorable spots on my walk from Lisbon — full of beauty,...
Read moreThe best coffee shop in Portugal, I'd have to say. This place has it all. They have high-end coffee from all over the world. They only chose the best, and I had never tasted such great coffee in my life. This coffee needs nothing added, and trust me, I'm the person that adds milk and sugar. This coffee is so unique that you have to try it.
The food is made by Arbab, the owner, who is a highly skilled certified chef. One example of the passion he has is that he takes the pork for the "humble sandwich" and slow cooks it for 10 hours. Every item on the menu is treated like this. The corn muffin is completely homemade with real corn. This is why the menu is limited but super great quality.
The atmosphere here is perfect for a short hang out or a digital nomad doing their work. It honestly hits everything to be a great place to hang out and get a coffee.
There is more to say, but honestly, just go here and find out what I'm...

The friendly owners (?) from Canada and Hawaii made me feel welcome. I ordered a latte and sat outdoors, appreciating the thoughtful setup that made it feel like you’re part of nature. It’s a perfect spot to hang out with friends over a good cup of coffee. I spent at least 20 minutes there and found the washroom very clean.
I'm not sure if the coffee house is part of the "A" Author Guest House, but it’s located downstairs from it. The coffee was a bit pricier, but the cute coffee art, a chubby heart shape that reminded me of a corgi’s well-groomed heart-shaped butt, made...
