DARZ! Hamburgueria Artesanal — Restaurant in Vila do Conde

Maybe I had big expectations, or maybe my burger wasn’t that great. I will return to try again, because with such awesome ratings I must be wrong 😅

I’ve saw this place on my friends Instagram and wanted to come here for a long time, so one day, we were half way from Porto and we decided to come.

I had the burger with Gorgonzola and my bf had the Melbourne (according to the owner, the most typical).

I had a bit on my bf burger, that really look delicious as you can see in the pics, is the one with the bacon sticking out 😛), and there was something there that was not my taste. I’m not picky with food but it wasn’t for me.

An then my burger, the Nürburgring It is supposed to be a burger with string cheese, the cheese is the star of the burger, but it wasn’t… the sweet caramelized onion was the star, you almost couldn’t taste the cheese, as the ratio cheese onion was like 30-70. That really disappointed me. Just too much onion. I feel they go a bit nuts on the onion 😅

The fries were ok and the portion is good, but the sauce was really great.

They have like 10 different beers, but they went a bit crazy on the prices, 6,5€ for Paulaner is a bit too much. The dinner got quite expensive because of the beers.

The toilet wasn’t as clean as it should be, and say this because they had just opened for dinner and we were the first customers.

I also felt that the bread could have been fresher.

The owners are friendly and super nice, explaining everything about the burgers, and what to look for.

I want to return, I wanna try different burgers!

Ora vamos lá fazer uma das reviews mais importantes que já fiz... Estamos em Vila do Conde, zona antiga e histórica. E lá bem no coração, junto à Nau, temos um oásis de qualidade - DARZ! Gerido por um jovem casal, serve os SEM DÚVIDA ALGUMA melhores hambúrgueres que já comi na minha vida. Está a milhas de tudo o que provei até hoje. Cheguei com tempo, 12h,espaço ainda estava vazio. Pude aproveitar-me da deliciosa hospitalidade da proprietária do espaço - Beatriz - que gere este restaurante com o seu marido. E aqui começam as particularidades deliciosas. Este restaurante é um hino a Ayrton Senna, um grande ídolo meu, um grande GRANDE piloto de Fórmula 1, um dos GRANDES. E então cai-me a ficha. Estou perante o Santo Graal da Hamburgueria Regional, Nacional, Mundial, digam lá o que disserem. Já andei pela Europa toda e nunca tinha provado nada igual. Ponto. A juntar a tudo o que já era de si fabuloso, os gerentes decidiram adicionar mais uma preciosidade - cervejas belgas artesanais. Bolas, parem com a perfeição! Bebi uma triple, mais de 10% álcool, cerveja que quase se come. Uma maravilha. E pronto, ficamos por aqui? Nada mais errado! Sobremesa, uma delícia com requintes brasileiros, cheesecake de paçoca, uma delícia que demorei 10 minutos a degustar, enquanto tentava perceber se estava acordado ou a sonhar. Terminei tudo com um café Nespresso, espumoso, consistente e bem quente. Amigos, o Google tem que dar um passo em frente e começar a aceitar 6 e 7 estrelas nas suas avaliações, porque este seria certamente um local ao qual daria 6 estrelas... fácil fácil. O Guia Michelin devia saber disto. Mas por outro lado.... Shhhh não digam nada a ninguém, enquanto é segredo temos o espaço e qualidade de atendimento só para quem sabe. Quando explodir em popularidade - porque vai explodir - poderemos dizer que fomos uns dos primeiros a ter vivido a nova...

You want high-quality scratch made hamburgers? THIS. IS. THE. PLACE.

While the pricing is noticeably higher than what you'd expect for a normal burger, the taste and especially also difference in flavor for the burgers offered justifies it. The added color to the buns is a nice eye catcher, while it may repel one or the other rather than look yummy. Truffle fries were plenty and great taste, it is definitely recommended to get some extra sauce, however. Parking is very limited, best to go by foot or motorcycle.
