AâFurada is an old ex-âFishing Villageâ- reimagined as a Restaurant-area near the Ocean, serving wood-grilled-Seafood (& weak Sangria) to locals( but mostly Touristsđ€)
If you make your âŹâŹâŹ from those outside your Borders, wouldnât you care to be sure, they âtell-their-friendsâ, how well they were received in Aâfurada?
Isnât the Hospitality Industry predicated on a melange of Service/Cooking/and Ambiance? The staff of Casa do F.C. never âgotâ that Memo! To act like you DO NOT CARE, about the customer(s), is NOT a signal to me-a returning Customer, I should ever âcareâ enough about your tired, bored, lazy staff enough to return. The servers were so-bored- they would âSpyâ the street(s) and announce to their colleagues when they spotted TOURISTAS approaching from down the street.
A âcheck-backâ, is a common Hospitality Industry standard. If you do NOT care enough about your customers to ask- âis everything OK?â ( âTodo Bienâ?) or to âattemptâ!? to speak in English, a fairly common language of Tourists only shows that you should NOT WORK in the Hospitality Industry. Go sell shoes. Go make Video Games. Go clean your Uncles boat. But do not insult the people (Customers) that put food in your mouth. The Fish was well cooked, put- guys- maybe some seasoning? Even Black Pepper & Sea Salt maybe? Or Garlic Powder? Something to enhance the Catch of The Day? Or-maybe⊠Take your Boring-Boiled-Potatoes-Smash-âem--and-Set-on-The-Fire-For-1.5 minutes- to enhance their Flavor + Texture? Itâs not Gourmet-Cooking, just thinking like a Chef! Or maybe to wash your (teeny) Squid, so it is not sandy or gritty, like mine were served?! Is that, too much to ask? Maybe? you donât care? But the way that your staff acts, doesnât make me- a returning Customer, ever want to return, for bad Service & average-to below average...
Read moreYou canât get more authentic than this place. Excellent Portuguese cuisine in the heart of a little village called SĂŁo Pedro da Afurada. Starting with the location, SĂŁo Pedro da Afurada is a little village at the end of Vila Nova de Gaia, it is about 45 minutes walking from Vila Nova de Gaia and you can't get more local than this village, it is a fish market area with many places selling fresh seafood and fresh vegetables. This restaurant will serve you authentic and fresh Portuguese dishes, and you can be sure that the seafood will be fresh of the day. The price is excellent for the quality you are getting, the restaurant is very simple but cosy and relaxing. Large portions of fresh, perfectly cooked fish that was full of flavour. The service is great. The wine is inexpensive and delicious. Tatiana was our waitress and we didn't have to wait for a second to get seated. I strongly recommend this restaurant if you want to taste what is the real deal in...
Read moreThis place was recommended by a friend, and it was really amazing. We had to wait almost an hour for a table, pick time from 2-3pm as it was very busy, but you can tell itâs good , full of locals and tourists. The food is fresh and really tasty! We had sardines and grilled squids and salad. It comes with garlicky boiled potatoes, very tasty! They prepared the table and put some bread and olives (as usual in Portugal itâs charged) we were really happy with the service and the live music outside. It was worth the waiting time. I definitely recommend it! Spent âŹ55 for all with 2 pints and a coke! And creme...
