If you are looking for an honest review about this place, please stop for a bit and read this one: I had a night climb (9 PM) booked with Porto Bridge Climb via Airbnb, however I was unable to attend because I overslept due to exhaustion from a sightseeing tour I had earlier that day. Frustrated that I had just missed the experience of my life and fearing that I lost the complete fee paid upfront, I called the host Pedro the following day. Pedro was not only super helpful but also very understanding of my situation, booking me for another climb later that day, albeit a little earlier than 9 PM (7 PM). (he later called me back, apologizing for this, but I reassured him that this is completely fine as it turned out to be a more suitable time for me). Arriving at the location, I was greeted by David, my guide for the occasion, a very great guy with a very helpful attitude in general, he had lots of interesting facts and stories to tell about the bridge; and Rita, a very friendly colleague who helped me take off the "lifeline" safety harness at the end. The climb itself was, as mentioned, an experience of a lifetime, presenting the climbers a unique perspective on the city; with the 7 PM climb I was able to also catch the sunset, presenting great photo opportunities. I most definitely recommend them, as this experience alone holds a solid representation of the Porto population; the relaxed nature, and their willingness to lend a helping hand at the same time is a great combination, and it looks great on them; there are simply no complaints.
My only regret is not being able to leave a review on the Airbnb app, since I acted too soon and picked "didn't attend" at the review section....
Read moreQuite disappointing experience. We went to see the sunset from the "best spot" but the staff did not care that much after I asked are we going to see the sunset? She replied: Girl, I am not the one controlling the sun!!! But in my opinion she is the one controlling the tour so she could have taken this into consideration. There are 2 stairs along the bridge on 2 sides, one closer to the city and 1 closer to the ocean side where you can see the sunset. Despite that they knew we are interested in the sunset they made us go up the city part because in their opinion was a better view. But that day it was a marvelous sunset in the ocean which we missed because of them. Also at the top part of the climb the view is not good at all. However, the tour keeps you so long up there that you will just miss any kind of sunset. Tried to discuss this with them but they seem unaproceable. Made me very stressed and angry this experience overall. Bad staff. The bridge is nice but not thrilling at all. It doesn't even feel you are on a bridge. Not recommending if you want to see the sunset. Just go to the Jardim do Morro. Two stars because they gave us free chocolate port shots...
Read moreBest experience of my whole holiday. It started out with a misunderstanding, so that I was at the bridge with no one being there. I was really disappointed, because I didn't expect it as the contact an service were so great before. Pedro, the chef called me and apologized, that there was a mistake by one of the guides and invited me to do a private bridge climb at night. He picked me up at my hotel and showed me the bridge. We had a great talk, he took me back to my hotel. The experience itself was incredible, but what impressed me most, is the passion Pedro puts in his business, as all the stuff is extremely reliable all the time and a "forgotten" client never happened before. I would highly recommend the tour, the company and the bridge itself. It's a breathtaking view,...
