Confeitaria Novagaia — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

I went to get coffee at least x2 per day during my 5 day stay. I speak Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and English, however the owners and staff only speak European Portuguese; I was lucky that Vanessa not only smiled at me and made me feel WELCOME!! Vanessa spoke to me politely and in English. Vanessa was supper nice and we even had a short conversation in Brazilian Portuguese. I noticed how the owner got annoyed at her for speaking with me. I gave 4 stars because the staff was not welcoming, only Vanessa and another female employee that spoke some English. I Give Vanessa five (5) stars. I hope that the owners continue to employ such an excellent, friendly and professional employee like Vanessa is! Fui tomar café pelo menos x2 por dia durante a minha estadia de 5 dias. Falo português brasileiro, espanhol e inglês, porém os proprietários e funcionários só falam português europeu; Eu tive sorte que Vanessa não apenas sorriu para mim e me fez sentir BEM-VINDO!! Vanessa falou comigo educadamente e em inglês. Vanessa foi super simpática e até tivemos uma breve conversa em português brasileiro. Percebi como o proprietário ficou irritado com ela por falar comigo. Dei 4 estrelas porque a equipe não foi acolhedora, apenas Vanessa e outra funcionária que falava um pouco de inglês. Dou a Vanessa cinco (5) estrelas. Espero que os proprietários continuem a empregar uma funcionária tão excelente, simpática e profissional...

Horrible store. We were the tourists and the lady who seemed like an owner gave us a dirty look and barely talked to us. She looked up and down on us and gave horrible attitude.
