Restaurante Mais Mar — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

A good streetfood restaurant located in food court building along the Douro river. There is a WC in the building and many different small restaurants and stores.

Mais Mar has seafood menu, fresh and delicious. They cook right before your eyes. We ordered Dorado with potatoes, garlic and salad. It was ok. Also we ordered black pasta with shrimps and tomatoes. It was delicious. There is some wines and drought beer Super Bock. I don’t really like it.

Today I broke up with my boyfriend and went to the river to relax. I ordered paella as recommended by the restaurant. When I first got the paella, there was no shrimp. The restaurant staff immediately changed it to paella with clams. Although this is what the restaurant should do, I felt like someone was there. Not caring about my feelings, I added an extra prawn at the end. In my heart, I feel that this paella is like my salvation. Salt overload in all dishes beware!! Ordered the seafood rice, grilled fish of the day, and grilled octopus. Our seafood rice was drenched in salt that I could not eat it at all, brought it back to them and they were kind enough to do something about it, but they decided to put it back to the grill and add some water to “dilute” the salt.. they also then tasted their gravy and also added water to that same pot.
