Sabores D’ Fininha — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

We were ignored by the older man with glasses while he entertained other tables with joy. He instantly served a big family who came after us without bothering to give us the menu till we asked. Even so, he didn’t come back to take our order and we had to ask another waiter for help. That waiter was decent, thankfully.

The food was unfortunately awful, truly horrible. If you like slimy & overcooked octopus, this is the place for you. It wasn’t fresh at all, and the black rice was undercooked!

The squid ink pasta with seafood was quite tasteless, shocking that we paid so much for bland tasting cafe-type food.

Cherry on top of it all, was that the old man loudly slammed my chair into the bottom metal part of the table (which shocked my partner), just because I went to the bathroom and didn’t push my chair in. The other waiters politely pushed chairs aside so there’s no reason to be this rude!

No idea where the good reviews are coming from but please save yourself some money and time, plenty of other restaurants to dine at...

The food tastes average. Service was alright. The meat for franchesinha was slightly tough. The seafood rice has an alright broth with generous amount of prawns though not the freshest, mussels were good. However, the taste was ruined by the mushy imitation crab meat that was overcooked, it would have been fine without the crab meat as there's already sufficient volume of seafood. Unsure of how the bread and spread was charged; on menu, it said 0.5 euro per piece of bread. Had 2 bread with 1 tiny butter spread and 1 tiny cheese spread and somehow came up to 4 euros. Saw other reviews that with olives, that would be 6 euros. Do reject the bread, spread and olives up front to avoid this random charge classified as "tapas". Waited for a good 30mins despite there being no orders before us, which is acceptable given the seafood rice takes time to cook. But if you're in a rush, perhaps another place would be more suitable. A young lady with white short hair standing at the entrance and luring to the restaurant the worst example of "worst service" ever which we have seen in whole Portugal cityes and Madeira - the lack of future service and simply cheeky and boorish behavior on the part of restaurant or cafe staff: after we looked at the menu at the entrance, she snorted with a dissatisfied look and arrogantly pulled her eyes aside due to the fact that she was already tired of everything so much that she allows herself to behave like this near potential customers), neither hello, nor goodbye, nor how to help you, as if she was tired of people and hates them! After reading the reviews of this "institution," we were horrified by the low rating and the large number of complaints from guests about unpleasant staff (in particular, there were even negative reviews of this girl with short white hair), service and poor...
