We were lucky enough to have a tasting of 4 Douro Valley wines and 4 Port wines with Maria and she was incredible!! We are avid wine tasters and learned SO much from our tasting with her. Maria is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. She does a fantastic job of educating during the tasting, but gives you time to enjoy the wine and chat amongst yourselves.

We did a Port wine tasting, a trip to the Douro Valley and tasted with Maria, and her expertise knocked our socks off. She let us buy a glass of wine after our tasting and let my husband try another Port off of the menu to ensure he found one he loved. We ended up purchasing a few bottles from Lado. The most authentic experience we’ve had in the city. Maria’s passion is only exceeded by her knowledge of porto wines! Her genuine personality and cross-cultural upbringing will ease you into appreciating porto wines like no one other, I’m convinced!

The even better part - you’d be supporting local porto producers! … Unique stories, brave innovation in porto making, producing from the heart while during the day they fulfil mere mortal jobs: economists, psychologists, engineers, etc.

The sommelier, Miguel, was exceptional! His enthusiasm, love for wine and knowledge couldn't help but bring you in to love the Douro wine experience. We took the 8 glass experience (no food - which was a mistake because people next to us did and it looked amazing), it was enjoyable to try small producers from an area which has very dominant names. Miguel took the time to talk to us about the whole wine experience, from growing to tasting. The price was super competitive and it was a highlight of our trip. We will absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great Portuguese...
