If we could leave 10 stars we would. Excellent recommendations throughout the meal from our wonderful and warm waiter, Ricardo. We received a very friendly welcome at the restaurant, and we decided to eat inside with the air conditioning, but there were also lovely seats on the patio. We had fried cod (bacalao) a veneza, shrimps (camarão from the daily special), caldo verde (green stew), and clams (amêijoas). We also ordered a bottle of white for the table. Everything came out in perfect timing at the right temperature. The wine (just house white) was delicious and a nice accompaniment to the meal. The clams and fish were absolutely outstanding. For the price, the quality and the taste are really good. Definitely a very good place to eat when on a budget. Away from the tourist crowds yet close enough to the attractions.

What a find! Veneza Cafe Restaurant on Avenida da Republica in Porto was excellent. We were a group of eight, and they were able to accommodate us without a reservation, which was a huge help.
