Restaurant Valachia — Restaurant in Cluj Metropolitan Area

We have been for 3 days in Cluj, with family, end up in the first night for dinner, we went back every single day. I had work for the last 20 years in Hospitality business in 5 stars establishments, with international clientele, with European, Asian and American cuisine, but so far this was the most memorable culinary experience that I ever had. The food is out of this world, everything fresh, home made. Kudos to the chef. The service was impeccable, with a level of friendliness and professionalism that you don't find anymore.

We like to thank one more time to all the staff of Valahia, and assure them of our gratitude for making our experience memorable. We will definitely come back.

This place is not near the city center, but its very easy to get to. Bus 25 takes you very close, and you just walk across the street to get there. It's worth the trip though. They make their own homemade bread and their food is absolutely delicious. Its so comforting and fresh. I especially like their polenta/mamaliga with cheese or any of their grilled meats. My husband likes the chicken paprikas. But honestly, we have been here many times and each time the food has never disappointed. We are not Romanian but we do have many Romanian friends and we eat their food so we know what homemade should taste like. It's one of the best restaurants in town, amazing food, great service and cosy atmosphere. I highly recommend it, it's for families, couples; ideal for parties, birthdays and all kind of events. It also has a playground for children! There is an open terrace for summer, but it's all covered in case it rains ! During warmer seasons it has heating equipment! The restaurant has 5 separate indoor spaces, and, during certain periods, it host live concerts ! The music played on the background is Romanian folklore, and the arrangements are also typically Romanian. Not to mention the food !
