Dickens Pub — Restaurant in округ Семёновский

I often bring my Russian friends here of a Sunday afternoon. At this time it's quiet and a nice place for a chat. The pub has got a really pleasant, woody interior, with some leather sofas and interesting British-themed posters, which very much remind me of home. There's sport on the telly, but the sound is turned down and it's not intrusive. They serve very good British-style ale (Old Hooky is particularly nice) and good meat dishes, which are substantial and value for money. Me and the misses went and had a few drinks at the bar. Despite Russian language, It felt very much like an English pub (I’m English so I know what I’m talking about) it had a similar setting to any Wetherspoons but more welcoming.

Our bartender was Sergey. He was very friendly, attentive and pleasant to talk to.

We visited this place 26.01.2024, having read the descent reviews in Google and Yandex. The food was actually quite disappointing. The fish&chips had a weird shape and no crispness at all (see photo). A salad, named “roast beef”, was absolutely tasteless. The starter plate for two people was also not the best choice (see photo).
