Khachapuri — Restaurant in Basmanny District

This place is simply amazing. We called them before, asking for a table, but it was saturday and they told us just drop by and see. So we arrive and had to wait 10 minutes...than the good times started. First we all got free (!!!) wine (or limonade) while waiting, than we got our table. The waiter were kind, friendly, funny (he wanted to see id from my parents :)) and spoke very well english. The food came quickly (even it was full) and was undescribalbe good (only rethinking of it lets the water in my mouth flow). Than there is such a warm, wellcoming atmosphere here. There were 3 birthdays at the time we were here and all the waiters and guest were clapping with there hands and make it a big, warm celebration for the birthday boys and girls. You should definitely try the Megrelian Khachapuri here! We ordered a small (regular) size along with other side dishes, so the quantity balanced out. It's pretty small, about 15cm diameter.

The eggplant and nut rolls were okay, and the beetroot pkhali was under my expectations. For some reason, it's a tiny little bit spicy (the river pkhali).

The Georgian cheese assortment was good for a try out, but it was too salty for our taste so we wouldn't order it again.

I don't know about the khinkali, but you should certainly try the khachapuri because it tastes AMAZING!! Since the side dishes had an okay taste, I would recommend ordering two small khachapuris of different types.

One of the best place in Moscow for many years. Food here is just great and relatively cheap. The atmosphere, the vastness of central hall are beyond concurrence in Moscow. Though, there are some inconveniences, which you may (or may not) experience during your visit. First of all, there could be crowded. Really crowded. So you even could have to wait for an hour or so. Secondly, though, the service is generally OK, sometimes it could be just average. Don't expect much from it, here it's not the most important...
