Dining here was a dream come true. From the time we entered to the restaurant till the very end we were served not only with good food but with so much respect. We didnt reserve a tabLe beforehand therefore had to wait for sometime. We waited at the bar for almost 10 mins when we got a table from pharmacy hall. We wanted to dine in the library but couldnt since we didnt make reservation earlier. Library hall dinings must be booked earlier. The food arrived earlier than we thought. And it was so so good. One of the speciality of this restaurant is its very famous dessert. The caramel pyramid pudding. This is a must try for anyone who loves dessert. The best thing about the restaurant is its interior antique design. The calm vibe, soothing music we get from the dining halls makes it ideal for a special evening with loved ones. After dining, we requested to see the halls. We went through the floor and i ll tell you it is exquisitely beautiful. The walls, ceiling every little thing was detailed oriented. After a little tour we went to take our coats, but being too mesmerized by the surrounding i guess,i lost my tag and had to pay 1500 rubles to get my coat back. Also we were promised for a refund if they find the tag inside the restaurant which i received after two days. I am extremely happy with the service, waiters, hosts, food and everything. This is must try for anyone who loves good food. I ll definitely go again and i recommend this to anyone who is travelling to Moscow. Its worth all the money you will spend...
Read moreMy whole experience deserves 4 stars. The reason that we visited this place is because it is historical and is preserved. The waiters/waitresses are dressed with the old traditional costumes, the interior decor is the old preserved with an amazing wooden bar. The bathrooms have the porcelain fixtures. All these deserve 5 🌟. The menu is long and has a variety of Russian dishes. I tried the dish that includes 6 different samples of traditional Russian dishes, like beef stroganoff, small veggie pie, chicken cutlet, pork dumply.. My wife tried the trout broiled fish and my daughter the fried chicken wings. We liked the pork dumplings and we ordered an extra order. We didn't order a bottle wine but we tried glasses of Russian white and red wines. We were not impressed with the food, possibly because we felt it was too heavy, cooked with a lot of butter. We could not finish any our plates. Here I would give 3 stars. The service was average, possibly because the waiters have to dial with all the touristic patrons who have so many questions. Couple of them refused to take pictures with us. Smiles were rare and unhappy looks were more common. The waitress did not smile or said thank you when we gave her the tip in cash. Here I would give 2-3 stars for service. Prices were pretty high for a Moscow restaurant considering the food and service. Anyway I didn't feel that I went back in time, I had an ok time, so would give a generous 4 stars. I would not go back but I would recommend it to the first time Moscow visitors. Cheers...
