Cucina — Restaurant in Kigali City

Food and service were great. What didn't work was that we asked for a bottle of dry white wine. After checking, they said they only had dry white and they had two bottles available. My husband said we'd have whichever was less expensive. The two bottles offered were both over $250, though we didn't check carefully as our expectation was that they'd have a normally priced bottle of wine available and they indicated that they had only two bottles of white. It's potentially on us as we didn't look through the menu and see there were plenty of very reasonably priced bottles but we had no expectations that the staff involved would act in bad faith. They took advantage of us, plain and simple. They assumed that we'd pay and so they manipulated us into doing so. It was really upsetting because we had such a good impression of Rwanda after two weeks until this happened - leaving with a bad taste...

This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Kigali, inside the Marriott Hotel.

The service, food preparation, and the cozy atmosphere makes this restaurant a winner.

The Focaccia Bread is freshly baked, and served with butter or a pesto spread.

For starter we selected the Fritto Misto and the Ciambella di Melanzana; both were a good selection to start a good meal.

My main course, Coulingiones di Carciofi, was well prepared, well balanced flavors; Loved the pecorino truffle cream!!,,great choice!

For dessert, Bombolone alla Crema di Limoncello, loved the presentation, and the doughnuts of freshly taste.

What a nice experience I had at this restaurant, conveniently located inside Kigali Marriott Hotel.

For starters, I had a tomato based soup with some bread and for mains, I had a tomato-based pasta with succulent lamb cuts in it, then topped all off with a glass of red wine. Gosh, everything was fresh delicious and so hearty. As I expected Italian food to be.

Service was prompt and professional. The extra touch for me was my server advising me on red wine to have based on what I like.
