The Chops Kigali — Restaurant in Kigali City

This has to be the worst restaurant in Kigali. After 20 minutes waiting for our appetizer, we were told that they didn’t have today. Fast forward 45 minutes, we still have not received the newly ordered appetizer.

The food was poorly prepared and our waiter stated she the manager when we complained about the wait time and food.

I asked her three time for the bill for our drinks and appetizer as the food was taking too long to come. After 2 hours the poorly prepared food arrived. I should have left but being in a different country and my poor language skill, we waited like fools.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was a letdown from start to finish. The food was poorly prepared and lacked flavor, and the service was inattentive and slow. Prices felt unreasonably high for the quality, and I was quoted amounts that seemed higher than what locals were paying—an unpleasant surprise as a visitor. When I tried to pay cash, I was repeatedly told there was no change available, which came across as intentionally inconvenient. NO CHOPS FOR ME. At first glance, the place is welcoming, modern decor. Then it decays seriously. We are promised a delicious goat’s leg so we order.
