DMC Fugalei — Restaurant in Upolu

DMC is a local favourite go to place for fried chicken. My taxi driver highly recommend it as his favourite. So, I went in to try the local favourite. The fried 2 piece chicken and chips was very greasy but the taste was not too bad. The chicken pieces sizes were massive - Samoan size. For $13 WST (FJD $11) it was good enough serve for 2 people.

Pros: The portion size was worth for the price paid.

Cons: The food is greasy and not very healthy in the long term. The service skills of the staff was terrible - they seemed not to care about customers friendliness. Some locals who ordered after me recieved their orders first. Clearly they need to improve in customer service skills.

Customer service, the girl was so rude no greeting, and even when she read back the order and she put something else down i politely corrected her and she said yeah i know, and we still received the wrong order. We waited over half an hour and people who ordered after got their food first and we werent the only ones also waiting. The whole time we waited, we literally watched the staff walk around refill their drinks and eat. They only started to work when the manager came out and told them off. Yeah work effort...

Around 3:00 pm, we arrived at this place and saw a good number of people already seated. The service was excellent, the food arrived quickly, and the waiting time was minimal. We ordered a large family meal for about $120. The portions were generous, although I wish there had been more seasoning on the food. Overall, it was a pleasant experience!
