Short review for those with short attention span: Place is amazing well worth the money which might feel a lot for Samoan standards, but coming from AU you know you would spend minimum of double for the same or lesser quality food. Recommending it 100% Tuna Chorizo was exceptional Fish Curry was amazing, and service and speed was really really good. Longer Review: Me and my wife wanted to spend one of the last nights in Samoa somewhere nice. Lava hotel restaurant never impressed us to eat there for the last time. Instead we found this place not far from there. Right from the beginning when called to book the table it was so seamless and professional and I haven't experienced that here in Samoa for over When walked in we had a warm welcome from Danielle the waiter. Owner himself came quickly to handiver the menus. Atmosphere was really upscale with relaxing music, fit and finish and professionalism of the staff. We ordered chicken nuggets and chips for our daughter, and that came very quick. Here in Samoa everytime we wanted chicken nuggets restaurants would be out of. These guys had it and it was really tasty. For ourselves we had Tuna Chorizo and Fish Curry, and oh boy they were absolutely full of flavour and aroma. Generous portions too and the best Tuna I had. Ever. Danielle was really polite, attentive and professional as well as very friendly and easy to talk to. He is definitely an Asset to this business. Comparing to other restaurants here or in Perth this one would rank up at the top of my list to frequently visit even above places like Meet&Wine Co. or C restaurant...

Let me start by saying I don’t typically take the time to review a place. However, our experience at Bistro Tatau was so wonderful that I felt the need to this time. My husband, mother, and myself had been walking around town and the market most of the morning. We were looking for a real restaurant to have lunch and drinks. I spotted an unassuming restaurant across the street, and off we went. From the moment we walked in the door, it was an awesome experience! No detail was left out, from the beautiful Teuila flowers at the entrance, down the the himalayan salt and pepper bowls on the table. We had a question about the John Dory fish, as we were unfamiliar with it. Our server, who was new, told that they were out of it. No biggie we were just curious anyways. Once we ordered and were enjoying our drinks, the owner, Bill came over and explained the story of the John Dory to us. We found Bill to be very congenial, and enjoyed our conversation. We were having such a great experience, we decided to extend it by having dessert. As with everything else, it was top notch and so delicious! We believe the price to be extremely reasonable for the service and quality, and will not hesitate to go again should we get the chance to travel back to Samoa!! Thanks Bill, for a memorial experience! We wish the best for you and your place, and hope to see you again! Cheers!

Bistro Tatau is a gem in the centre of Apia. Delicious food and friendly staff. Everything tastes fresh and has a lot of flavour. The oka was the best I have ever had after that first mouthful I was excited for the rest of my meal and was not disappointed. The fish curry was delicious and cooked to perfection, it was soft and delicious. I kept converting the prices to NZD and this place was way cheaper than a lot of places back home and has better food. I enjoyed reading the story on the menu about tatau too. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to people.

We had gone as it rated well and had a reasonable number of seafood dishes to choose from especially Tuna and Masi Masi plus a good wine selection. We had high expectations as is not cheap, so very disappointed that was no TUNA or Masi Masi at all , wine list tho extensive very limited by the glass. Our food was average at best and the pawn pasta was a one dimensional tomato cream sauce with overcooked fettuccine and 6 prawns for 60 tala ,the cauliflower and broccoli side dish was overcooked the broccoli had gone that dull green.Had been to Paddles resturant 2 days before and had a stunning meal best pasta and Oka dish so if you have a choice...
