Golden Royal Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Al Maathar Municipality

Sad to say that one of the better Chinese restaurants in the city has been reduced to being terrible just because of the really poor service. What happened was that the QR code did not fully work on the phone and the restaurant did not have physical copies of the menus. Not one waiter was able to do anything about it , nor give an explanation as to why they didn’t have menus nor did they do anything about it or cared to do anything about it nor did they even try to give out a courtesy phone/tablet menu nor offer solutions. Each one of the poorly trained waiters did what they do best which is to say: “sorry, I don’t know” and walk away like the robots they are. It wasn’t until the host aka “manager” came up and explained the restriction imposed by the ministry of health for why they cannot give out physical menu and also didn’t even bother trying to accommodate for any courtesy phone/tablet nor provide any solutions. It took going through three waiters before getting this explanation and then left to my own device trying to decipher their menu through a delivery app. Do I blame them? No. Do I blame the owner for the lack of management and for poorly training the waiters on hospitality and restaurant management ?...

The dining experience was nothing short of disappointment . The food, far from authentic, bore no resemblance to Chinese cuisine and could easily have belonged to any subpar establishment. The quality was abysmal, lacking flavor, and leaving much to be desired.

The ambiance was equally dismal, with seating arranged so poorly that it felt as though one was dining on a busy roadside rather than in a restaurant. Despite requesting chopsticks with our starters, they never arrived, adding to the frustration of an already dismal experience.

The glassware was particularly concerning, with visible fingerprints and lip stains, suggesting a lack of attention to basic hygiene. The overall impression was one of neglect, both in terms of the food and the presentation, leaving no reason to ever return.

This restaurant tops the list of restaurants in would recommend to people in hate !!!

Me and my family have dined here for over 20 years… we love this restaurant, it has become a part of a family tradition… but today was different, we were left stranded for 30min as soon as we entered. No one welcomed us and no one sat us down. Having ample patience, we ignored this strange situation but we were sitting at the table calling for someone to take our orders and 30min have passed with absolutely no worker giving us any attention. We then started walking around and discovered all the ladies who work there were having a giant dinner. Also the bathrooms had no water for some reason. Anyway, we just upped and left the place.
