Namu — Restaurant in Al Maathar Municipality

By far, it is the best korean chain we've dined in.

First, the staff. The lady host was ever gracious and professional. Her dealing with answering my call and offering to send the menu via whatsapp was so prompt and with no delays. I forgot to check her name if there was a name plate, but she is on duty during our visit, which was past 9:30 pm. We were served by Mr. Morsid Galo, who was so attentive that we didn't have time to call out to him 😅. So polite, neat, and knows what to recommend from their menu and how big the portions are. The restaurant made use of its manpower because not just 1 served us, but a lot. I think the tip i left (50sr) wasn't enough. I'll make sure to leave more next time.

It is the kind of restaurant that was well thought of. You will not smell like a walking BBQ after 😁. Because it is well ventilated, the smoke vacuum from the grill is so strong yet quiet.

Now i saved the best for last... the food! Korean food in the first place has never been cheap because the process and ingredients they do and use are top of the line and healthy. Here is the list of what we ordered:

*Points for a semi salty eater season the kimchi fried rice with the pink himalayan salt given to you. It is also best to grill the kimchi 😉.

Overall, my simple birthday dinner with my kids was amazing. We were beyond full because the food was subtle and filling.

We went there on a Tuesday early evening for dinner and we were a party of four. The music was K-pop and loud it wasn’t easy to talk or enjoy the food if you’re going out with someone to catch up with. On the other hand I was surprised how the food was pretty good! Forget about being authentic or not it tasted good and still had the Korean touch to it since it’s not easy to get most ingredients here in Saudi. Unfortunately they don’t cook the meat for you or offer to do it they just give you fast instructions and leave. The staff they try to explain what dishes they are serving with the music isn’t easy to hear and also we were talking and we didn’t even notice them explaining things so we asked them to repeat again. Prices were high to portion sizes which meant more for sharing than to eat it as main dish. Side dishes were limited and also small portions for even one person! Meat portions were also small too as they recommend for two persons who will be full immediately which isn’t not the case when it comes to Korean food culture.I highly recommend the seafood sondobu which was the most authentic to me from the dishes we had since most were mildly spicy like the toppokki wasn’t good. It was my first time dining in here in Namu at dinner time.

I ordered Ala Carte grill beef brisket that free one set of banchan and side dishes good for one person all shall i say, this menu dish, you already feel full. I ordered teopokki with fish cake. Superb love it. The spiciness kick inside of my mouth. And lastly, ordered Mango Caramel Popcorn shave ice cream in regular size. Its worth the price. The creaminess, the blend of sweetness coming from mango and caramel popcorn are well balanced. Though, i’m alone the regular size was too much for me already as I am already full with the ala carte dishes and teopokki. But their shave ice creams got mini size as well.

Overall, my whole experience in Namu was totally 100% splendid. The food was great. The atmosphere was great. The service from the staffs are superb great. Very accomodating and helpful to choose the great dishes that suited for ur tastes.
