I had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The vibe and service were great, and many of the dishes like the corn fry, kabab and chicken korma (which was excellent and tasted like authentic North Indian style) were delicious. However, a major disappointment was the vada pav. The pav (bun) was noticeably old, lacking any freshness or softness, which was a big letdown compared to my previous visit.please work on it.. While the cutting chai was a winner, some of the other drinks like the rohafza, cocktail, and jalzera could use a quality and taste check. The sooji ka halwa also has room for improvement. I hope they address the quality of their buns and drinks. Option 2: Detailed and Descriptive My recent visit was a bit of a rollercoaster. The restaurant has a lovely vibe and ambience, and the service was top-notch, as always. The food was mostly very good; the corn fry was a perfect starter, and the chicken korma was a standout dish—rich, flavorful, and a true taste of North India. Unfortunately, the main course I was excited about, the vada pav, was a huge disappointment. The pav (bun) was clearly not fresh and had none of the softness I remembered from my last visit. This really detracted from the dish. I also felt that while the cutting chai was excellent, the other drinks—rohafza, cocktail, and jazera—lacked flavor and quality, and I wouldn't recommend them. The sooji ka halwa also fell a bit short of expectations and could be...
Read moreSo I recently had the chance to visit the Taste of Mumbai and it was an absolute roller coaster of flavour, emotion and taste. As the name goes, Taste of Mumbai totally justifies its name and takes you back to the streets of Mumbai. I along with a couple of friends ordered a solid mix from the menu and here are my ratings:
Mumbai Vada Pav - 5 / 5 (Must try) Kheema Pav - 5 / 5 (The perfect Irani restaurant kheema) Mutton Seekh Kebab - 4 / 5 Butter Chicken - 4.5 / 5 (Don’t forget to tell the waiter to spice it up based on your pallet) Chicken Triple Schezwan - 10000 / 5 (Stole the show with just everything perfect) 😍
We also ordered a couple of Fresh lime and Jal Jeera sodas which were just perfect and as expected. 👍🏻
The place is elegantly done and gives a very comforting vibe to the dining experience. The hospitality of the owners was applaudable as they made sure we were placed well and served to our expectations.
Overall this place is a solid 4.5 / 5 and totally worth a try if you want to get a TASTE...
Read moreIts a trend that every new restaurant has a standard statement for late orders” we make everything from scratch”.
35 min for butter chicken and daal on a Friday afternoon when the restaurant is empty.
Confused and impolite waiters.
On asking few questions about the negligible chicken in butter chicken, the response was “ this is Mumbai style”. Please don’t give a wrong impression about Indian/Mumbai food.
I understand that a new restaurant needs time to settle down but it’s not justified for them to provide below par food and blank service.
I shared my concerns with the waiter and the manager or owner who was listening from far behind, simply turned his back on me when I was leaving.
I usually avoid writing negative about food, but today was one really low experience with my family at...
