My recent sojourn to the esteemed restaurant Franš in Belgrade was nothing short of an otherworldly experience, akin to wandering into a realm where culinary excellence reigns supreme. From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was struck by an overwhelming sense of refinement, a tangible atmosphere that hinted at the profound mastery concealed behind each dish and every service gesture. The evening unfolded like a symphony of the senses. The food, an immaculate procession of flavors and textures, transported me into realms of bliss one could scarcely imagine—each bite resonating with an almost divine balance of the simple and the sublime. The skill of the chefs, hidden from view but ever-present in the exquisite craftsmanship of the meal, echoed the work of some secret, celestial hand. But it was the staff that truly raised the experience to a level beyond the ordinary. Their poise, grace, and profound professionalism reflected not just a mastery of their craft, but an almost mystical understanding of their guests’ desires. Every movement was choreographed to perfection, every word spoken with the kind of reverence usually reserved for gods, or perhaps the most revered of emperors. In this place, one finds not merely food, but an elevation of the very notion of dining—a transcendence of the ordinary into the realm of the divine. My rating, though seemingly excessive by the standards of the mundane world, is a humble 6 out of 5 stars, for Franš achieves what no other could hope to: perfection not just in taste,...
Read moreDisappointed. Reserved several days in advance, given a table in the end of a corrdior next to a service closet. Again, we are reasonable, had they phoned to let us know at leaste we would have managed expectations. The gem of this place is the actual interior garden. But then, while waiter was friendly, only dedicated minimum time to us, busy with other tables i guess; clumsy service. For example, did not even offered a wine list, always rushing away, leaving the dirty plates on the table. Had to be prepared to order something if you caught a gimpse of him, otherwise good luck. Had to ask for salt on the table (!!). In a restaurant like this with so much hype we expected a certain level. The food is fine, nothing special, quite frankly the menu has way too many things of it, plenty of other restuarants in Belgrade offering the same or better for the same or less price, in a restuarant that doesnt seat you in a corner, or take the actual time to acknowledge you. We would have loved to have experienced the interior garden, and to have been given the time of day by a waiter (there are like, 250 things on the menu, some guidance, perhaps!). My friend is Serbian but we were visiting from another city, so language was not the issue (although they speak great English too). Simply put it seems to be a place for group functions (there were large tables with people dressed up in the actual space of the restuarant) and this night they couldnt be bothered to attend us properly. For visitors, would not recommend. Not worth...
Read moreWhen we talk about strict restaurant policies, when we want to experience a true service, when we want to feel like we are the only guests that matter, we go to “Franš”. This review isn’t enough for me to share my experience with this nice people. First of all, the service is OUTSTANDING. Outstanding I tell you! The servers are there to provide you everything from “eyeglasses” if you cannot read the menu, to a birthday celebration and even a birthday gift. It has a wide range of food and beverages. I would recommend you the “black truffles beef” or the “white truffles beef”. Also listen to the recommendations from the servers, they can offer you things from the menu that you would never order. One other thing that is really interesting is that the prices in this restaurant are not that high, given the fact that the service and the food are excellent. The garden is also very very beautiful during the summer. If you are visiting Belgrade, this is your number 1 place to eat. Hvala vam “Franš”! Pozdrav...
