I recently had the pleasure of dining at a local restaurant in Belgrade, and I can confidently say that it deserves a resounding 5/5 rating. From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that set the stage for a delightful meal.
I started with the goulash, and it was a taste of perfection. The rich, savory broth and tender chunks of meat were a testament to the chef's expertise. It was comfort food at its finest.
For the main course, I indulged in the cevapi, and it was nothing short of amazing. The grilled minced meat served with fluffy bread and traditional condiments was a burst of flavors. Each bite was a reminder of the culinary traditions of Belgrade.
To accompany my meal, I enjoyed a glass of local wine, which paired beautifully with the dishes. The restaurant's wine selection showcased the region's best, and the staff's knowledge helped me choose the perfect match.
What truly made this experience special was the friendly and attentive service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my dining experience was impeccable.
In summary, this local gem in Belgrade left me with a smile on my face and a satisfied palate. The combination of delicious goulash, outstanding cevapi, and excellent wine, all served with top-notch service, makes it deserving of a 5/5 rating. If you're in Belgrade, don't miss the opportunity to savor the flavors of this...
Read moreTerribly unprofessional. Not recommended. I reserved table for 4 people 5 days in advance. It was confirmed by Viber with remark that we need to respect time and "dress codex" (jeans trousers, shirt, sweater etc - unclear what it really means...) and that we need to be 21+ (which is btw nonsense as legal adult age in Serbia is 18+). Unfortunately, 4th person canceled shortly before. We appeared on time (20h), properly dressed to an almost empty restaurant. Young waiter explained that if we are three persons he can only offer us a small high standing bar-table instead of normal one. When I complained, explaining that I made reservation from abroad for a normal "kafana" table he replied that he can't do anything and that we can only talk to the manager and see if he can do something. However, manager was absent, waiter said he'll come "soon", without precising when that can be. Completely dissapointed, we left. I'm born Belgradian who lived 30 years there and I live 23 years abroad and visiting kafanas there at least 1-2x each year but I never experienced something like this. Beside being completely unprofessional, this was also super embarrasing for me as a host to my foreign friend who saw 16 thousand good reviews for kafana Korčagin and wished to go there. Never...
Read moreWe visited Belgrade for 2 months and had been looking forward to eating here the whole time.
My partner made a reservation on their website (pictured) because nobody picked up the phone numerous times we called. This was meant to be our celebration for our last day in Belgrade after 2 months here.
We showed up, and they were already late, making everyone with an 8pm reservation wait 20 minutes outside.
Finally, they started taking the reservations. We'd been here for 30 minutes at this point, only to be turned away. They told us they had a big party inside but we could sit in their entryway, with less heat and no music, in an obvious attempt to segregate us.
Upon asking, the manager became aggressive, raising his voice to show "proof" of our reservation. Which proved he hadn't even looked at the list upon first telling us where to sit.
If their website reservation process failed, fine. Not our problem. But to be additionally dismissed, made to feel burdensome and unwelcome, is a problem with the staff and their treatment of guests.
Would...
