Visited this place yesterday night. I expected some good service and high quality food as it is usual with Micheline places, but to say I was shocked… The service was just straightforward bad. The waiters try all their best not to notice you as much as they can whenever you are trying to grasp their attention. They gave us the menus straight away, but forgot to explain that you should use the pen and tick the dishes for the table in one copy of the menu. Well, basically, they didn’t give us the pen anyway. We selected our meals, we waited politely for 5 min, 10 min, 15 min… When we started waving our hands, then they finally noticed us… and gave us a pen and a task to fill the menu choice list. Nicely done. In another 5 min they came to the table to take the list. They served the appetizers really quickly. But the problem was that half of the people ordered main dishes and we had to wait for mains for almost 40 min. This is completely unacceptable the way they are operating. We also tried to ask for advice from a passing waitress – basics, to tell us what dishes don’t have tomatoes in ingredients, because we had a person with dietary requirements – the waitress couldn’t even tell. She said, all dishes had tomatoes. Then said no, no dishes had tomatoes. Then called another waiter to advise us. What is this even? Again, great to note that there is no dietary information in the menu along with no info on the ingredients, which makes it less accessible. No olive oil was served with bread and olives. We were basically not waited upon – they didn’t even come to check is we have enough water or not. A huge thing is also they don’t operate any non-smoking area. Yes, it is typical of the Balkans, but they have three zones, at least one of them could probably be assigned to non-smokers? Or is the Balkan cuisine not Balkan enough without the smell of smoke? Perhaps, it’s a special delicacy. I have heard a lot of nice things about this place. But I will not set my foot again there. For the service only they deserve a huge minus. Food taste though? It was alright. I ordered beef stew with eggplant puree. I think they overdid it with starch in the puree as it was sticky. And definitely overdid it with the nutmeg in it. Beef was sparse. Not anything I’d...
Read moreThis was my second time to visit this restaurant. First time was 7. years ago, and main reason was good relation between price and food quality. It was nice this time, but I will come back in next 7. years mostly in comfort seating reason. Maximum you can stay seating in dinning chairs is two hours, not more. Service is nice but somehow uninterested and definitely unprofessional. It can be improved in many ways, faster reaction at first place. We tried few salats and giros…and it was nice without sensation. Next time I would change with something else. Manu can be also improved with some more Greek specialities, after all it's Greek restaurant. All I can say is you can try, you will not regret but don’t expect some good feeling after all. Even it’s not neither expensive nor cheap, for that money you can spend better time in some other restaurant if you try. Recommendation for restaurant is to change chairs, and push service to be better in every way, results will be visible. All the best in future...
Read morean amazing find in Belgrade. beautiful courtyard with very chic Mediterranean decor and a lovely ambience . ordered a number of mezze plates and main courses and each dish was better than the one before. the highlight of the dinner was pork skewers (oh so juicy and succulent) and the hunkar begendi (that beef with the eggplant cream was so delicious) - a must try. also ordered the eggplant salad, fava beans, lahmacun, octopus/sausage risotto and izmir kebab (good but the kebabs were more čevap than turkish kebabs) . service is polite and attentive, and does a good job with telling one when you've ordered too much (only if you dare to agree) . for two people, we ordered 6 mezze plates, 2 main courses and 2 drinks for RSD 9000. . the one small complaint would be the choice of non-alcoholic drinks - would be good to see more mocktail and non-alcoholic beer options . absolutely a gem of a place otherwise and a must visit. make sure to reserve way in advance as they are almost...
