We chose to visit Mala Slavija as my husband wanted me to try some 'proper' Serbian food. The decor is traditional and restaurant was clean and well presented. When we went in, we did have to wait for a while before the waiter came to take our order, even though people that came in after us were being dealt with. We ordered the boiled beef with vegetables which we though was a starter but when it arrived, it was actually a really big bowl and we struggled to eat it all! It was really good value with large pieces of beef in it. One criticism is that we were brought a basket of bread which we didn't ask for but was charged 300rsd for. We presumed this was free bread, otherwise we would have declined it. Even though we were charged for it, the majority of the bread was taken away without us being asked if we were finished with it. Overall, a good experience but the communication could be a little better so the customer fully understands what they are getting (my husband is Serbian, so it wasn't a language issue).
In addition to eating in, we have also ordered the set meals from Wolt. These include a main, side salad, bread and dessert for 800rsd which was excellent and we will definitely...
Read moreFrom the first bite, the pljeskavica at Mala Slavija impresses with its juiciness, bold seasoning, and perfectly grilled texture. Made from a blend of high-quality meats and seasoned with just the right amount of spices, it captures the essence of homemade Serbian comfort food. The patty is thick and rich, served hot and slightly charred on the edges — exactly how it should be.
What sets this pljeskavica apart is its balance. It’s hearty without being greasy, flavorful without overwhelming your palate. You can enjoy it on its own or in a traditional lepinja (flatbread), accompanied by classic sides like ajvar, fresh onions, and creamy kajmak — a combination that elevates the entire experience. Whether you’re a tourist wanting to explore local dishes or a Belgrader craving a taste of home, Mala Slavija is...
Read moreOk so the food is really good, I have to give them that. But. The service was terrible. Me and the friends I went there with are from Greece and when the staff heard us talk in greek with each other their attitude changed drastically. When we wanted to order something, they ignored us. It took them 30 minutes, and a lot of bothering, for them to give us a bottle of water. And when a friend of mine told them, for the fifth time, to bring us water, the server just replied with "easy boy, easy, calm down". Like ok? Anyway, I only give them 2 stars because...
