During our stay in Belgrade we really wanted to try a cevapi spot. People say that Belgrade has many great traditional balkan food places and this one for sure is one of them (more of a Bosnian cuisine).
We entered a small shop and to our luck we got seated with in 5 minutes there is usually a waiting line for a table since there is only 6-7 tables that can fit a max of maybe 15 people at a time for dining in. Inside its not the fanciest and resembles a small burger shop.
However the food is top line and the quality of their meat is definitely one of the best (all halal as well!). we ordered a small portion of Sudzhukica (veal sausage), 1 veal patty (pljeskavica), 3 portions of Cevapi with kajmak, 1 portion of veal liver (dzigerica), 1 portion of veal cutlets (katleti), 1 shopska salata, 1 grilled hot pepper and 3 bottled beers. They also have beer on tap!
The food was amazing and i really recommend it the servers were also great! However you are looking for a more kafana feeling its definitely not that.
The price point is very very reasonable for Belgrade we paid for 3 people ~6800 (dinars) which is close to 50ish euros, and the portion sizes are very big.
If you are looking for a good spot for some great Sarajevo food, I would definitely would...
Read moreVery rude service. I went in during massive protests to join my friends who were already eating. I went straight to a toilet first. There was a line behind me, peacefully waiting for toilet as the protest was right in front of this business and people had no other choice as they were outside whole day supporting students. Suddenly one of the staff started yelling on people, saying that it is not a public toilet, being very rude. I came out and said that they should be ashamed. Then the waiter started physically pushing me out on my shoulders! I confronted him saying to stop immediately! I decided not to eat there end went outside. No one ever thought that it is a public toilet. But the way of yelling on people to go out, and locking the doors was outrageous! Supporting peaceful protests is a huge thing in Serbia only for kind and nice people. I emphasize that this is edited comment as a reaction to the...
Read moreGot to the restaurant around 4:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is not too large, I believe only 7 to 10 tables. When we got there it was completely full so they told us to wait outside. Unfortunately there isn't a sort of waiting system because once a couple tables were cleaned and open, other customer just walked in and sat down. So we realized anytime a table is open, to just sit and then figure the rest out from there. We ended up ordering the small portion of Sudzukica which is a veal sausage, the Beef Burger or Pljeskavica and Shopska Salad. Both meats were super flavorful, the bread soaked up the meat juices nicely and the Shopska Salad added in a nice mix to vegetables. For drink we ordered Zajecarsko Beer which was quite refreshing. Overall solid place but ready for the crowd! Also possible to pay by...
