New Teck Kee Chicken Rice — Restaurant in Jurong East

I have to be fair to the lady server she's really a sweet gal she did her job properly. I haven't been to the shop for a long time all because of bad attitude and really bad manners from the boss himself and a couple of the staff. The efficient and friendly ones are not at work today. I ordered a laksa with thick bee hoon and they simply have a chicken wing chopped into half and placed on top of the noodle. Excuse me! Who eats laksa with chicken wings? It should be the breasts meat at least and after I requested change and that it was never indicated it was chicken wing in the menu the grouchy staff said I should tell in advance I didn't want wings. I reiterated that the menu did not say they were going to serve wings! Boss came out of kitchen to question what happened but did not say anything. I told the staff before ordering that I was planning to order for takeaways for family after my quick meal. I paid and left instead without ordering the takeaways. My family used to dine there every week a couple of years ago and and we practically stopped patronizing almost a year now all because of the bad manners and bad attitude. I chose to have a quick meal there because Toast Box next door had quite a queue. I wonder why they would do this to their customers. We used to be happy diners there and got along well with their servers. Now it no longer attracts me and the food quality standard has dropped a fair bit. It will be a long long time before I even want to consider stepping inside even though the sweet girl server was rather happy when she saw me and we greeted one another HNY! The kitchen crew is just too proud and there are more fabulously wonderful chicken rice...

Chance upon the truffle chicken rice on Facebook and I would say, they are innovative to have come out with this idea. The chicken rice is not overwhelm with truffle and taste of chicken rice is still there. Their chilli is slightly more spicy than what you can get from other chicken rice stall.

Ordered from website to schedule for store pick up during lunch hour and was surprise that the shops are not fully occupied. Probably due to the current pandemic??

The downside is that the food I receive is not as advertised. The portion of their chicken is lesser than expected. I have specifically select the option to add more meat and additional 1 packet of plain rice but then didn’t manage to eat the plain rice because the chicken was finish before we can finish our rice. Please look at attached picture of normal portion truffle chicken rice vs the add meat truffle chicken rice I bought.

We went into this place today and wanted to sit at a table of 6 because that’s the only vacant table available and no one is behind us. The table of 6 is a combination of table of 4 and table of 2.

But the staff insisted that we sit at the yellow seats at the L shaped table with another family of 4. I told the staff that it’s obviously less than 1m distancing because one of us is gonna be touching back with the other family. So they said we can sit facing the family. But the table is obviously less than 1m across from them too.

I asked them to measure on the spot and they kept quiet. But insisted we can’t sit at the table of 6 because today is weekend and will affect their business.
