After reading all the reviews, I was very excited about our visit to Tangra on Sunday for dinner! The service was courteous and attentive. Ordering was made simple using an IPad per table, that also had pictures to go along with dish names and descriptions. All the positive highlights of the place unfortunately stopped there for us.

We ordered spicy pan fried veg momos, veg chilli garlic Hakka noodles and paneer kasundi (dry). The momos skin was rubbery and couldn’t tear it off easily with each bite. The stuffing inside was wayyy hotter than the outside, confirming my suspicion that it was not prepared freshly but simply reheated. The noodles weren’t too oily or salty, but the noodles seems to clump together and didn’t offer any bite. Also lacked any flavour and was only warm. The paneer kasundi dish was paneer cubes in mustard sauce - this I’d rate a 6/10 because the sauce tasted really good, but the paneer cubes were following the general theme of being stale and reheated. Unsurprisingly, a neighbouring table had similar complaints about their food.

I felt disappointed since I was really excited about a place service Indian-Chinese food! However it was clear the food wasn’t upto the mark and we left mid-way. Came home to some digestive issues :/ thankfully they resolved...

Cozy India China and Tibet fusion restaurant with an extensive menu located just few min walk away from little India mrt exit E.

Momos: 🥟 Steam chicken momo ($13.90) 🥟 Chicken momo pan fried sweet garlic ($14.90) - all the momos were great and the sauce helped to elevate the taste as well. Get the plain steamed momos if you want a cleaner taste! 🥟 Vege momo chilli garlic ($13.90)

Meat: 🐟 Fish parsley ($16.90) 🍜 Chicken thukpa ($11.90) - appetizing bowl of spicy noodle soup and makes you crave for more. 🍗 Chilli chicken tangra style semi gravy ($15.90) - very flavorful and portion of meat was substantial. 🍤 Butter prawns ($18.90) - my personal favorite as the butter was not too cloying and prawns were fresh. 🐟 Fish hot garlic gravy ($16.90) - packed with flavor and would be great with plain rice.

Mains: 🍜 Pan fried soya mixed noodles ($18.90) - slurpy noodles with delicious soya sauce topped with fried egg. 🍚 Szechwan fried rice egg ($14.90) - slightly spicy but still manageable and this was quite tasty, almost similar to a usual Chinese zichar fried rice dish.

Desserts: 🍦 Kulfi ($8.90) & Kalo jam ($7.90) - unique desserts that we’ve not tried before and quite liked it. Not too sweet too! 🍹 Mango & strawberry lassi ($7.90 each) - refreshing beverages that resembled fruity...

I recently visited this Indian Chinese restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and they were always happy to answer any questions I had. The food was absolutely delicious, and I especially enjoyed the chicken momos, honey potato fries, and chicken manchurian. The ingredients were all fresh and high quality, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

The chicken momos were perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and a juicy and flavorful filling. I tried both the pan-fried and steamed versions, and both were excellent.

The honey potato fries were a unique and delicious twist on a classic dish. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the honey glaze was sweet and sticky.

The chicken manchurian was my favorite dish of the night. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was rich and savory.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this Indian Chinese restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, only the prices were a little high but it was well worth it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for...

Just went there yesterday for a quick meal as I had been craving for the Indo-chinese taste for sometime now. The menu isn't updated, so you wouldn't find alot of veg dishes on the menu at the stand but we took a chance and walked in, spoke to the service crew about vegetarian dishes and he mentioned that they do have a decent selection. We ordered: 1. Vegetable thukpa: just ok for one person, the portion size isn't enough for sharing. 2. Momo, steamed and pan-fried: the steamed ones were good and smooth, but the pan fried ones were too thick and hard. I think it was deep fried and not pan-fried. 3. Steamed rice and chili garlic paneer: the rice we're nice and fluffy but the quantity for the gravy was not good enough. All in all, we ended up spending $67, as the portion size of each dish was small (we were two people eating) We check out a restaurant every week to understand which ones we can go back to again. I think I'll only come back to this place for the vegetarian Momo and also for the friendly staff. Try sitting in their upper story sitting area as the AC works better. (Downstairs is very crowded)
