I stumbled upon this little gem quite by accident during my visit to Maribor—and what a delightful surprise it was! If you’re craving an authentic Bosnian burek or savory pie, look no further. Having traveled across the former Yugoslavia sampling every specialty under the sun, I can say with confidence that finding such top-notch, handmade pastries outside of Bosnia is no easy feat.

The meat burek here is simply outstanding. And when I say “meat,” I mean real, hand-chopped pieces—never that lower-grade, finely minced stuff you often get elsewhere. Each flaky layer overflows with succulent, perfectly seasoned beef. But don’t stop there: their cheese, spinach, and potato pies are every bit as exceptional, showcasing that same commitment to quality and tradition.
