28 May 2021 gravity pulled us to Steers to celebrate International Burger Day. So the Tygervalley outlet is a small one but it gets very busy at times. The staff was friendly tonight. The service was very quick and this was a surprise when you read the other reviews you get a very different story. Nonetheless, we decided to eat opposite the Steers in the communal area. The chips was pretty bad which is the Steers strong point. Half of my portion, looked liked an upgraded packet of Fritos chips. The other half was very average to OK. The strategy was clear put the better looking chips on top and the 50 cent ones at the bottom. We went for the Mjojo burger (a tip from Heart Fm). I was skeptical about the pineapple but to my surprise it just works. It gives a sharp sugar acidic taste to the burger. Scientifically, it does not make sense to taste sugar-acidic but that was the taste I got. On first glance, the patty was hiding away from us. It was very thin and it was competing with the bacon for thickness. Overall the burger brought my experience back to 3 stars. I will keep sampling! Better luck next...

Easily one of the most disgusting experiences I’ve had at a takeaway place. I took my girlfriend there to try Steers for the first time ever. We ordered two Mjojo burger meals and specifically asked for the macon to be removed. When we got home, the following issues were immediately apparent:

The chips were stale, undercooked, and old.

My burger included a stale piece of tomato, a stale pineapple ring, and was missing the cheese.

My girlfriend’s burger still had the macon (despite our request to remove it) but was missing both the cheese and the pineapple ring. Essentially, she was left with a patty, tomato, and sauce, which was absolutely tasteless.

To make matters worse, the state of the kitchen was off-putting and filthy. It is an hour after eating the food and I still have the bad taste from my stale and old pineapple ring in my mouth.

EDIT: Steers then asks you to contact them as seen below with their response to my review. They do not contact you. This just seems like a way of trying to show the public that they may be resolving the issue in private, but...

This is totally unacceptable through the whole loadshedding I could not eat steers because this shop closes it's doors 39min before loadshedding ok understood that a bit... But now they have generators running the complete mall and now steers still can't take orders because they are 20min delayed how's this possible how is the business serviving and with all the competion around you you can't afford to loose clients due to slow and incompetent staff I am not one to bad mouth ppl but it's been coming on for a while now i am sorry this is bad bad bad and the rest of the reviews shows you that it's not managed well... Eish guys this is not fair on...
