I have been a Wimpy fan for many years. I have always visited the Tygervalley branch. Unfortunately my visit to the new site was most unpleasant to say the least. It was very busy, which is clearly good for business, but my experience was not good at all. I was with my daughter & we were looking forward to a pleasant & leisurely lunch, but that was not to be. We were seated right next to a paypoint & for some reason that seemed to be the place for staff to hang out & discuss their personal lives. They were talking so loud that we could not hear each other. We were attended to very swiftly & the food came quickly too. We were not asked if we would like a second coffee or dessert. Before we were even finished the bill was put on our table. So no leisurely lunch for us. All in all a most unpleasant experience. If the service was more pleasant one could overlook the fact that the tables are so close together & it is impossible not to be party to the conversation taking place at the table next to you, but bad & rushed service to get you in & out as quickly as possible, & being subjected to loud staff discussions right next to you, made us feel that we would never want to do it again, which is sad, as the food & coffee have always been good, but good food with shoddy service dies not work for me. A sad day as I have been a Wimpy fan...
Read moreWe had previously visited Wimpy on two occasions at Canal Walk where we had no complaints about the food or staff.
On Sunday we visited the Tygervalley branch and I couldn't say the same. The waiter who took our order looked like he was just there to fill his compulsory hours at work and was quite blah about it, not very friendly, not even with a smile on his face. When my daughter took a bite of her burger she found the relish on it to look very artificial and she didn't want to eat it as the colour of the relish made her nauseous. We told the waiter that the relish wasn't satisfactory. He said we couldn't change the burger as she already started eating it. So how are you supposed to know if you will like food or not if you don't eat it? His attitude was one of not caring much about customer satisfaction. We took her burger home to our dog, where I only fed her a tiny bit of it as I didn't think my dog should even be subjected to such an artificial looking patty. I have rinsed the patty off before giving itbto our dog and the relish colour remained on it. It looked like the very cheap type of tomato sauce that certain supermarkets sell.
I will certainly not be returning to the TV branch. My burger was good but the customer service was...
Read moreI went to Wimpy in Tygervalley today. What a huge disappointment. I asked for a fruit cocktail milkshake, which used to be absolutely divine. What I got was a watery excuse for a milkshake with barely any taste, Definitely not what I expected. The real shocker came when I got the bill, R47.90. Are you guys serious, an R11 steri stumpie has more taste than my wimpy milkshake. R31.90 for a plain burger (no chips). Lots of lettuce and very little else.
I’m really very shocked at the drop in standard of your food quality.
When I tried to send this complaint via the ‘contact us’ page, I got the message “Were Sorry! This form seems to be invalid. Please check it and try again.” (Copy and paste, not...
