This was my first time going to Panarottis, so I really didn't know what to expect.

Firstly, I want to state that I actually give a rating of 2 and 1/2 out of a possible rating of 5 stars, because my biggest issue wasn't really with the food, moreover with the quality of service received.

Upon arrival, my two friends and I were led by a man, who stood in front of the establishment, to be seated. We then proceeded to wait up to almost ten minutes before having to call over a staffer to place our orders.

A waitress then came over, she was very polite when she took our orders, she then said that she would relay our table's order to "OUR" waiter, to which I replied, "who is our waiter then?" She just laughed and walked off with our order.

We ordered two vegan pizza options, four drinks in total, and a macaroni cheese ball starter.

We waited long, so long for our order, like ridiculously long, to the point that I thought that they had just forgotten about us. At that point I wasn't even 100% certain if our table was being waited on or not.

We were about to leave, but then the guy who initially led us to our table, walked up and said that our food would be ready in two minutes and put some garnish stuff on the table.

It turns out that he was our waiter all along.

We then received our drinks, then two minutes later both pizzas arrived, then lastly the macaroni starter came.

Make this make sense

We waited almost 30 to 35 minutes for a Fanta in a glass cup, an alcoholic beverage out of a glass container and a milkshake that was literally prepared within eye-view, 5 minutes before the actual food came out.

The point that I am trying to convey, is why the long wait for the drinks? And, have you ever gone to restaurant where the starters were served last?

Again, these weren't the main reasons for me being upset.

After we had finished all that we could possibly eat, we had leftovers and requested a takeaway container and the bill from our waiter.

As he walked to our table, about five minutes after we had last spoken, he literally threw the box (takeaway pizza container) on our table, as he walked passed. He said nothing, didn't even acknowledge what had transpired, and walked off, not even glancing at us.

He was passing from behind our table, so my back was facing him when "plunk" the box landed infront of me, right on my plate as well as some leftover pizza slices.

My two friends and I were in mid conversation when this happened, so we were completely taken aback.

The guy's demeanor was off from the very beginning, I'm not sure if he was being overworked that day, if he was having a bad day in general, or if he was just offended that we called another staffer to take our order, instead of waiting for him, but he was not present at all around our table and didn't even try to make us feel welcome. Not to mention, he failed to let us know that he was our server.

In contrast, the rest of staff were more tentative, a lady waitress even came by to check up on our table, she cracked a few jokes and then left.

As far as the food goes, the pizzas were between 5 and 6 out of 10, the macaroni starter was okay, but I really enjoyed the marshmallow-chocolate milkshake thing.

The food and beverages in my opinion was overpriced, for my two friends and I, everything totalled to over R500 or so.

For the poor services and long waiting time, it's safe to say that I will never return.

BTW: For anyone interested. No, the place wasn't that busy enough to justify the long wait, however, there was loadshedding, I'm not sure if that...

Panarottis has a new face, and it is about time! The menu has been revamped and is simpler with less options, as well as having a new American style sweet or savoury waffle options added, the face of the restaurant has also changed, its the classic 1990s Mike kitchen mixed with Pizza Hut, so nothing original about nothing offensive. The menu still uses the Spur text linking it to to chain, but it would've been nice for it to have been a more classic font pushing the restaurant closer to its much improved Italian menu offerings.

The food is 100% better. Gone are the days of getting a bowl of melted cheese with pasta lumed on top. The prices are reasonable but portion sizes could be reduced by one fifth and no one would complain.

The servers need to be up skilled and trained on body language and the order of offering food and drinks and this would make the restaurant more revenue and the servers...

Update November ’24: Brunch on Saturday is great. We have received very good service from waitresses and waiters. We enjoyed the FORMER breakfast options, including breakfast pizza. I used to thoroughly enjoy the ‘Carb-Conscious Breakfast’ - delicious! Large cuts of tasty bacon, eggs cooked according to preference, mushrooms and tomato.

Please note that the breakfast MENU HAS CHANGED! My favourite carb-conscious breakfast now has an added boerewors and the price has been hiked up to over R90! Suggestion: reintroduce the former carb-conscious breakfast, with the boerewors as an optional extra!

The ‘Cheese Griller Breakfast’ pizza is no longer available!

We ordered a vegetarian pizza because we are strict vegetarians by religion. Shockingly, the pizza came with piece of chicken in it. When we showed this to the waitress, her response was: “Oh sorry, only one slice has chicken, the rest is veg — maybe by mistake.” This is completely unacceptable. Imagine if it was against someone’s religion or deeply personal belief — how can anyone think it’s okay to just “remove it” and carry on? The manager’s response was equally dismissive, treating it as if it’s no big deal. This is not a small mistake. It’s about respecting people’s faith, food choices, and trust. If a restaurant cannot guarantee that a vegetarian meal is actually vegetarian, then how can anyone eat here with confidence? Extremely disappointing experience.

This restaurant has an Italian and Mexican cuisine kind of feel. They are predominately known for their pizzas and pastas, they usually have great deals like all you can eat pizza on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They have tables inside the restaurant as well as outside however by outside I mean into the outside mall space. There are no bathrooms within the restaurant itself one would have to use the public restrooms provided by the mall. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly. They also have the standard alcohol menu. The food is a bit bland and their seafood past is bad. However the pizzas are decent.
