I last dined at Bo-Vine Camps Bay about four years ago, so I was surprised to see their name pop up while browsing for a steakhouse one Saturday evening in the CBD. Turns out they’ve opened about two months ago in the old Zsa-Zsa space—and wow, the restaurant is huge, so no need to book in advance. I love the decor—it's "urban-industrial" yet cozy, with little nooks perfect for a romantic dinner or semi-private areas ideal for larger groups.
The hostess and our waiter were absolutely lovely - warm, welcoming, and with a great sense of humour.
Our group of five shared two meat boards, which come with two sides each. My pick is the Parmesan Risotto, hands down. The meat boards serve Wagu cuts - the ribs and sirloin, along with lamb chops and ribeye.
I am at a loss for words when trying to explain how much we enjoyed that meal. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted meat that good. The lamb chops were my personal highlight, but the men at the table raved about the ribeye.
Dessert was fabulous too!
I dreamed about and craved those lamb chops on the meat board for about a week after our dinner.... so I HAD to return to specifically order it as a main meal, only to find the meal was so good again, that the craving’s only gotten worse!
I'll be back,...
Read moreThe Bo-Vine in Cape Town's city center offers an elevated dining experience with professional service. During our visit, the staff was knowledgeable and attentive, providing well-founded and suitable recommendations for both food and wine.
The quality of the cuisine was exceptional. The meat was tender and cooked to the precise doneness we requested. The side dishes were also of outstanding quality. The portion sizes were well-balanced and met our expectations.
A notable aspect, however, was the low number of guests. Observations on several evenings confirmed that the restaurant's occupancy is surprisingly low, especially considering the quality of both the service and the food. In contrast, the restaurant's other location is much busier.
The interior of Bo-Vine is rustic yet appealing. The combination of warm colors, stylish furnishings, and a relaxed atmosphere contributes to a pleasant stay.
In conclusion, Bo-Vine offers high-quality service and gastronomy. The restaurant is an excellent choice for a fine dining experience in Cape Town. It is our hope that the restaurant will soon achieve the level of occupancy it...
Read moreLast minute decision to visit Bo-vine! We were a group of six and had such a great evening! Right from the start, the service was warm and friendly. The staff made us feel welcome (without being overbearing).
The interior is modern and stylish - the graffiti walls make it feel very trendy. One of the highlights for us was being shown the different cuts of meat before ordering. He took the time to explain the difference between wet-aged and dry-aged beef, which really added to the experience.
And the steaks……. absolutely incredible!! I had the fillet, cooked to a perfect medium rare, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had in Cape Town. Everyone at the table was impressed with their meals!
We shared a few sides, all of which were good, but the standout was definitely the Parmesan risotto! ! Creamy, rich, and packed with flavour — I’d go back just for that
Throughout the evening, both our waitress and the manager checked in regularly, which was appreciated and made the service feel personal.
Overall, a great experience. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. We’ll...
