If you're in Durban and haven't visited Patel's Restaurant yet, you're truly missing out on an unforgettable dining experience! Our recent visit left us feeling not only well-fed but also incredibly touched by their warmth and hospitality.
This was my first visit to Patels, but my husband returned after 25yrs. Unbeknownst to us, Patel's doesn't accept card payments. However, the staff were so kind and humble about it, even going as far as to assure us we could settle the bill the next time we were in Durban. Their trust and generosity spoke volumes about their character and values. Despite their kindness, we insisted on transferring the payment via EFT, and they graciously accommodated us.
Now, onto the food—what a feast for the senses! Every dish was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and felt like it had been made with love. It's clear that Patel's takes immense pride in their cuisine. The staff were equally impressive—welcoming, attentive, and made us feel like we were guests in their home.
Patel's Restaurant isn't just a place to eat; it's a place to experience genuine hospitality and soulful cooking. We can't wait to return on our next trip to Durban. Thank you, Patel's, for not just serving delicious food but also for showcasing the beauty of...
Read moreThere are not enough stars on Google reviews for this place. This is the place that sells my favourite veg bunny. Patels is one of the older establishments that still exists today. It has a rich heritage has been in the family for generations. Anyone visiting should try their mixed bunny - with beans and dhall, with a cool drink to wash it down. They also have great potato bhajias. The curry itself is not spicey but oozes flavour in every bite with their secret recipe and spices. Parking is a problem as it is on the old Grey street. You either double park and get your take away quickly, or find a parking if you want to sit down to eat. Patels, please keep the business going well into the future. It should be recognized as a heritage...
