Como Caffé — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

I wake up to a wonderful morning, greeted by a faint drizzle and melody played by the canaries who call one our trees home. Today is the day. I had planned to go to Como Café with a friend for breakfast. I had driven past it many times and had finally decided to go see what I was all about.

We arrived early in the morning, early for two university students at least, greeted by the smell of rain and a cool breeze playing in our hair. We decided to sit inside on the couche as my friend was very concerned over his needless to say lackluster hair.

The coffee I had at home that morning, which I always brew to perfection through years of dedication, left a hunger in me. A hunger that could only be sated by a culmination of flavors ordained to be perfect in the mixing pot of my mouth.

I decided to start with a coffee, to test the waters and see what I was getting myself into. I was amazed. It had been years since I felt the ecstasy of finding a café that brewed coffee to my liking. Following the welcome surprise that was my coffee, I was graciously welcomed to a full breakfast.

Grilled tomatoes, chips, bacon, mushrooms, pork sausage and toast presented themselves before on a white ceramic stage. Appealing to me in a visual sense, and later and in a tasty tasteful sense.

All in all, I had a wonderful time and I think it was four coups of coffee later we departed, full and satisfied.

I give you a solid 9 out of 10 pedestrians...

I am a regular here and have been coming here for a few years now as I do some work away from the office at times. There are enough food options to get great variety out of the menu. Their coffee is one of the best. I enjoy the atmosphere. The owners are very hands-on and it is lovely to see that their close friends and family support their business often. The best pizza I have eaten. fresh hand made thin dough and excellent mozzarella cheese base for the thinly sliced prosciutto with just the right splash of chilli chips. A delicious pear and ginger long juice. Very sadly it took too long as we had told the waitron we were in a hurry and I only had 15 minutes to eat it 😟 .
