Verandah Restaurant — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

Very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I won a voucher for their breakfast and went to claim it on Saturday morning with my boyfriend.

I had a voucher for 2 Verandah breakfasts with a coffee/tea each. We got there and were seated, the restaurant was not busy at all and we waited a while for someone to take our order. I gave our waitress the voucher (it states what breakfast we should get) and vocalising that we want that specific breakfast.

We of course did check on the menu what type of breakfast we would be receiving and waited patiently. We waited very long and started getting impatient because at this point there was only 2 other small tables at the restaurant. Why is it taking so long?

Our breakfast came and with big disappointment we looked at our plate that had half of the ingredients on that we were supposed to get. We called over a waiter to ask if we got the Verandah breakfast, he stated that is not the correct breakfast.

We called our waitress and informed her that in fact this is the wrong breakfast to which she replied “ok”. I asked her don’t we need all these other things as well and she just looked at me. Not apologising or offer to bring our missing ingredients once. I had to ask her could she please bring the other ingredients.

When it finally came our other food was cold and the food had no taste, zero salt or pepper, very bland and so disappointing for this “fancy” restaurant. We never saw our waitress again and had to get up to go pay our bill...

The service is very bad. They don’t clear your table before they bring the food. When the they brought the food, they had got the part of the order incorrect because they didn’t write down the order. I had to ask twice for one order.

I had reported a broken salt shaker and all was done, passed on to the next table. If this is common practice, I can understand why things are the way they are at this shack.

The food was below par, wasn’t pleasing to the eye and they use back bacon.

All in all the aesthetics were very nice and upmarket but THER SERVICE IS WORSE THAN KFC.

I’ll won’t be returning unless I get an invite from the gen managers saying that things have changed.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME....

I was there on Monday, Ordered the catch of the day (my all time fav), half of the lettuce in the salad had traces of insect egg damage.

I showed my waitress, she went with the bowl to the manager named Soso, and they laughed about it. My plate wasn't changed, they only offered another salad of which I refused, the manager did not bother to come and apologize. I still paid all the bill and tipped the waitress, I'll never again lay my foot there!!!
