Angelos | Café | Shark Rock — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

Last night my family and I went to your establishment and was thoroughly disappointed in all aspects!. To start when we arrived we were directed to a table for 2 and not 3, we could not possibly have 3 grown adults eat off a 2 seater. Then when our drinks arrived after having waited ± 10 mins to be served, there were only 2 blocks of ice in each of our glasses. When I asked for more ice our waiter informed me that the ice machine had a problem, ok so I am not heartless, I picked up my Ice Tea to pour it and to my disgust the tin was warm (room temp). My sons coke was also warm. After insisting that the waiter "find" more ice, which he did (he went to buy some at the garage across the road) we ordered our starters - sorry sir we don't have haloumi & fig, ok so how about black mushrooms. Off the waiter goes only to come back 2 mins later, sorry we don't have that either. Even the patrons at the table next to us were complaining that they did not get what they ordered as they were out of stock!!

This is a MANAGEMENT PROBLEM, don't leave your poor waiters to deal with the issues that you as managers can't deal with. You should know that this is the holiday season which means STOCK UP, after all it is us, Joe Public who pays your salary.

As South Africans living in the United States, my husband and I have been fortunate enough to maintain a beloved tradition - visiting Angelos Restaurant in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, for over twenty years! This iconic establishment has become a staple in our lives, and we make it a point to stop by whenever we're back in our beautiful country.

The Vegetable Stir Fry remains our all-time favorite dish, and for good reason! The perfect harmony of flavors, textures, and freshness has us hooked. But what truly sets Angelos apart is the warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with stunning artwork and a prime beachfront location. The service is consistently exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff.

If you're a local or visiting Port Elizabeth, do yourself a favor and experience the magic of Angelos. This institution has stood the test of time, and for good reason. We can't wait for our next visit and another...

The initial walk in was very strange, no servers who greet or ask if reservations were made such as the one in Walmer close to 6th Ave Shopping Centre, the waiters were quite pushy and it wasn't awfully busy, the table behind us were quite roudy and loud and no efforts were made to tone them down to the customers aroun them, this was quite annoying as we were trying to enjoy a day out for my mother's Birthday. The table we recieved was not up to standard and was oddly positioned, not thoroughly clean as i found fragments of chopped up bell peppers and chicken bones scattered underneath the table and chairs. The food was surprisingly up to good standard, the crummed chicken fillit and fries I recieved were fresh as can be, there were overall no complaints on the food. Overall, the food was lovely but the atmosphere of the restaurant needs a bit more attention, but I can not recommend visiting this restaurant if you're seeking a more personal space to commune with family and friends, there are a variety of restaurants in and around the area that offer a more orderly and family...
