Went here yesterday for Father's Day and WOW!!! BEST dining experience in the whole of Cape Town!! Welcomed well by a Turkish appearing gentleman, had one table open only and it was a window seating with couches. PHENOMENAL! The waitress went through the menu with us and helped choose dishes to our preferences. The presentation was INCREDIBLE. Chicken kebabs hanging from a large metal skewer upside-down with a plate on its bottom frame so the plate was suspended above the table.
Guvak came in BOILING in a charcoal like dish and it was BOILING HOT until the last bite. Absolutely amazing and delectable bread too. Seems made in-house. The apple tea was the first of its kind I tried! Even in Istanbul and on our road trip around the Turkish peninsula, this apple tea in Cape Town was the very best!! Hints of lemon. Absolutely incredible.
For a holiday, it was very tranquil and quiet in the restaurant despite the amount of people in the restaurant. The kitchen was DEAD QUIET. Not a sound from the back and the staff were not stressed nor causing stress to the customers. All employees seemed to be on the same page and have a professional demeanour about them. If they did some customer service courses in order to work at Eatstanbul I take my hat off to management.
However delicious the food, kind the staff and amazing the atmosphere, I must comment that when going here please bear in mind it is a restaurant and not a fast food place. They take quite some time to deliver the food but I promise they have no attitude or irritation and the environment and the food itself will make up.
I am tied between keeping this a household secret and letting the whole world know. An absolutely remarkable experience. FULLY HALAL and they have no blue eyes or photos of people or animals on display. Completely halal and no alcohol at all!
It felt like and tasted just like that cold night in Istanbul when we were looking for somewhere to eat and found an incredible find we kept going back to. I truly feel so special we have a piece of Turkiye here in Cape Town♡♡♡♡
MOST AUTHENTIC TURKISH CUISINE LIKE IN TURKEY.

Read moreMy family and I decided to visit this restaurant based on its positive reviews. When we arrived, it was fairly quiet, leading us to expect excellent food and service. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
We placed our order just before another family arrived and were seated, yet they were served their meal before us. We were later informed there was a mix-up with the orders. When our Kofta meal finally arrived, the rice was cold and had to be sent back. After we raised our concern, the staff member conveyed our complaint to the chef, and we were eventually served hot rice. However, the Koftas themselves were disappointing – they were not freshly made but appeared to have been reheated in a microwave, resulting in a rubbery and dry texture instead of the juicy, tender quality one would expect. The plate consisted mostly of salad, two dry tortillas, and a few side chips, the latter being the only part of the meal worth eating.
This was far from an authentic Turkish dining experience unlike The Suray which excelled in providing high quality Turkish food, service and experience. This place lacked atmosphere and the service, particularly from the kitchen, was extremely poor. The waiting staff member was extremely apologetic which we stressed was no fault of hers. To add to our disappointment, instead of a personal apology from the chef, a staff member brought out a complimentary dessert, which we declined. We insisted on settling the bill and left feeling thoroughly dissatisfied. It clearly shows the lack of caring about customer satisfaction. If you want qualityTurkish food with an exceptional service then 100% go to the Saray Waterfront located at the...
Read moreDisclaimer* I was not sponsored to promote this esteem establishment. When searching for a fine dinning yet unique authentic Turkish cuisine, EatStanbul tops the charts. The atmosphere is beautifully decorated with turkish elements from the ornaments to the wallpaper & the meloncholy turkish music sets a romantic scene. I made a special request of rose petals and roses for the celebration of my wife's birthday and it was met with the pedigree of sheer excellence. The Tavuk Nazik that I chose was a splendid swaray of flavours all well fused in the aubergine & cheese stew topped with a chicken cube in a coconut marinade. The flavours surprisingly comes all to together with your first conjured bite. My wife opted to try the traditional Turkish mixed grill, the platter has chicken kebabs, beef cubes, gluten wraps baked to textualised perfection with an variety of veggies. The waiter also blessed us with a side bowl of garlic sauce which on 1st appearance will be easily mistaken for plain Greek yoghurt but this sauce just adds that sauciness that gives life to your platter. Our drinks was the Istanbul Temple ( orange moctail) that bursts with flavors and side lined with strawberries while the Istanbul Electric ( blue) is the your extraordinary moctail where the syrup is shocked with lime juice. Thank You Eatstanbul for this splendid experience and we will see you soon for that Authentic Istanbul Experience in the...
