Wish I could give a 5 star. But there were tiny things that could have been a lot better. Food was good. Malva pudding and cheesecake was great and the dompedro also had the right amount of alcohol. Service needs improving. When we sat down the reserved sign was not taken away. Usually this would not bother us but we were 4 people and the table was just big enough for us. No space for candles flowers and reserved sign plus the normal glasses and plates. Then our waiter came to take drinks but we told him we were waiting for 1 more. He saw when our 1 more came and gave us time but it was a bit long of a wait. But it was okay. Then someone else came to bring the drinks to us. Which is fine but he didn't know who ordered what and gave everyone kind of their wrong orders. And the brandy had ice but the gin didn't. So we had to ask for ice. 2 of us had wine and the other 2 didn't, the waiter didn't bother taking away the extra glasses or even asking if he can. So we just handed him the 2 wine glasses and the empty graff that one of the wine came in. Like I said earlier space on table was limited. It was great though that they came to take our order before the big group that came. Our waiter had given us enough time to look at menu so it was a good thing and good service. Then after dinner one of our friends had asked the guy that cleared our table for a toothpick and napkin. This guy disappread and when I saw again he was chatting to our waiter and the hostess(assuming she was that, she had also checked in on us) about another table I'm assuming and I could tell he had completely forgotten about the toothpicks and napkin. So some how I had to get attention to our waiter and he had to come. I know they were busy and they did tell us about the big group. I just felt like if you are at the table next to us clearing their plates or cleaning, just turn around and say hi, are you still okay? Or when you are running around being busy just try and glance at the table and smile and nod to see if they are okay or need anything. Otherwise it was good. Right amount of food. Food was tasty. Will...

Ordered an Arnold's stuffed burger for take away, rare with chips.
Get back to my workspace and open the container, I immediately notice there is no top bun.
I decide that it isn't enough to cause me to go back to the restaurant, and try the patty. The patty is blue, they have not seared it and it is cold and raw.
Rare, is not raw.
Take it back to the restaurant and they say they're "going to fix it", I was horrified and said, not "fix", "replace"
I recieved the second attempt and the container is broken, it is a take away.
I ask that the container be changed, the manager takes it back to the kitchen and I hear, "now she wants the box changed" in an exasperated tone.
I get back and open the box to eat, pick up the burger and it is soggy. They have added 4 thick slices of tomato, I remove the tomatoes and note that one slice looks as if it had been prepped days ago and is gray in colour, I also notice that the shredded lettuce is black on the edges and is horribly wilted.
I also notice that the chips were simply transferred from the original order to the new box, so are cold and stale.
The burger patty has no flavour and is completely bland, it also appears that they ran out of salt, as the burger patty contains none.
This restaurant was an utter waste of my time and money. Save yours and eat elsewhere.

Read moreMy husband and I are very fond of visiting great rated star restaurants. We are exposed to high quality, well prepared food and excellent service. We were very excited to eat at Arnold's. The chicken wings were very disappointing. It was cold on the bone, old, over cooked and tough. I presume it was pre-cooked and then frozen. The chicken livers were the best that I have tasted in a long time. We were looking forward to the warthog ribs as my husband is a keen hunter and has shot quite a lot of warthog which we made sausages and salami with. How disappointing!! Although it was well-prepared, it was not warthog, but ordinary pork ribs. The bones were not those of a warthog and the taste very far away from warthog. We called the manager and his reply was that that is what it says on the slip. 🫣🙃 Kevin was our waiter but we hardly saw him. I had to call another waiter several times and had to stand up and fetch a menu myself to order dessert. The baked cheesecake with the chocolate sauce was excellent.
It was very noisy, so much so that the waiter had to quiet down the two tables next us a few times.
We shall not visit Arnolds again.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWER. We are absolutely sure that it was not warthog ribs that you served. Can I bring you the raw warthog ribs to...
