Liquorice & Lime is a cute little restaurant on Kloof street with a lovely view of table mountain, and it’s conveniently close to other local eateries and shops. The restaurant’s size means it can get quite busy, and while we had to wait outside for a bit, a friendly waitress promptly brought us a menu to peruse.
Once we were seated, the service was decent, though not particularly standout.
As for the food, it was pretty average. My friends enjoyed their tramezzinis with chips, with the chicken mayo and grilled chicken options receiving positive remarks. I opted for the Eiffel Tower breakfast, which featured French toast with Brie and balsamic dressing. Since I’m vegetarian, the waitress kindly substituted the bacon with a small cup of fruit salad. The French toast was decent, though a bit dense for my liking and it could be a bit more flavourful. The portions sizes are generous and offer a good balance between cost and value. We all enjoyed a flat white with our brunch, which was fairly well made.
We didn’t try any of the baked goods or desserts but they do have a good selection based on the menu and display in the restaurant.
Overall, Liquorice & Lime provides a pleasant dining experience and could be a nice place to stop if you are looking for a place to grab a bite or a drink and enjoy...

Read moreHad the eggs Benedict that I’ve seen raved about online, so my boyfriend and I went to go and have it. It was richer than expected but we thoroughly enjoyed it! My boyfriend started feeling unwell during the meal but our waitress was not as attentive so we thought we could bag it up, take it home and call it a day. Later in the day, both my boyfriend and I were completely ill from food poisoning. Called the owner the following day, and he was so arrogant that he said we must be feeling sick from a night of binge drinking - mind you, we had not been drinking days leading up to this meal. I made it clear that this was just feedback from our meal and we were not seeking a comp meal, and he flat out dismissed this and said there is no possible change that we could be feeling sick from his restaurant. You couldn’t pay me to return. Disappointing to say...
