My girls and I were looking forward to a mimosa breakfast at Arbour Cafe, which we never ended up having to due to the unprofessional service we experienced.

I called the previous day to make a booking for 6 people, specifically requesting a table outside in the courtyard.

Unfortunately, two of our friends couldn’t make it so the 4 of us went to brunch. On arrival, we asked for a 4-seater instead and the manager caused an extreme fuss, not giving me a chance to talk and speaking sooo loudly in front of the guests. I didn’t quite understand this attitude because they take walk ins for tables below 6.

They then proceeded to seat walk in guests at the table we had requested and seated us inside the restaurant, a spot we had specifically not wanted.

We are then given the wrong menu, which we noted upfront to the waiter. After a 15 minute wait for our menus, I got up to raise this with the waiter. He then brings us one menu for a table of 4, we aren’t happy with this so we just ask for a food recommendation. We are then met with such hostility. For a restaurant that was so hard on us for changing our number, I expected better.

My friends and I then decided to leave and go have brunch elsewhere, because why would we still pay after such poor service from the waiter and the manager?

A very disappointing...

From the outside, Arbour Café looks small and intimate but once you venture past a few tables and the open kitchen, the restaurant extends onto a quaint plant draped courtyard filled with the calming sound of running water from a grand water feature.

From the instant you arrive to the moment you leave the cheerful and friendly staff are ready and eager to help at a moments notice.

The menu caters to a wide range of tastes and appetites with dishes ranging from a fresh buttery croissant or a light gluten free galette stuffed with creamy wild mushrooms to the ‘magnifique‘ crispy duck confit with 5 spice cherry sauce. They have a fairly concise wine list (bubbly included), a few local craft beers and ciders as well as a selection of light refreshing cocktails.

The food and service was outstanding and the team at Arbour Café are always willing to go the extra mile to make you feel special which makes it the perfect spot for...

From the moment we stepped into Arbour Café & Courtyard, we were immediately embraced by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that this hidden gem provides. The inviting courtyard setting served as the perfect backdrop for a breakfast experience that was simply unparalleled. The staff were not only friendly and attentive, but they also displayed a level of professionalism that added to the overall high-quality experience.

The highlight of our visit, however, was without a doubt the breakfast. Every dish we tried was a testament to the culinary expertise at Arbour Café. The blend of flavors was an absolute delight, each bite revealing a new layer of complexity that left us yearning for more. The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients was clear, adding an extra dimension of enjoyment to our meal. This breakfast experience at Arbour Café & Courtyard has set a new standard for us, one that will be hard to beat. Five stars...

Reservations were made, and luckily so as it was extremely busy. We sat in the courtyard and it was extremely noisy due to the large groups in attendance. Service was, prompt, tentative and friendly. Food was average. Rather pricey for portion sizes. Sourdough toast was hard (as if it was toasted twice)but we were given fresh toast when we asked. The vegetarians were happy as they had options to choose from. Parking is in the street so can be difficult to find.
