So, it was the 1st time we have gone here, being we've only read about it on trip advisor 2 hours before and making a booking on dine plan for date night.

So being a bit hesitant and excited was a feeling new for my wife and I to eat.

We walked in, the room filled with aesthetically pleasing décor. Well spaced and not cramped. We chose an indoor seat.

Greeted by a good waiter who handed us over to a new employee which we don't mind.

We ordered a few items.. Deep-fried Sushi which my wife expected to be cooked through.(doesnt eat raw fish) That came along, she bit into it and was like no i cant, blah blah blah, so the manager literally made a new batch for here which was cooked through at no charge, and also left the 1st one for us to eat which was a win :) I also ordered Sashimi was just for me and I gobbled that up like no mans business haha... 10/10 for sushi, all 3 of it...

Beef short rib and Sticky wings.. These where fall of the bone and DEVINE!!! I was in heaven and def worth having as a starter if you there. 10/10 Especially the slaw with the ribs, it was perfect, with the chillie as well, hits the spot.

And lastly we took a Pad Thai.. Presentation was as you I would be, so no complaints. This was a close to the one I had eaten in Thailand and that is saying something, even up to the baby mealies, was crunchy and really yummy. The rice noodles, had the right bite and wasn't flavourless. Prawn and chicken where on par with what Pad Thai is and was executed 100%. This sent me back to that small dinner in Khoi Samui in a mouthful and that is what you want as a foodie and this was amazing.. 20/10

All in all, it was a wonderful experience, the food came relatively quick and we had time to chat between meals and drinks.

I highly recommend this place to anyone if you want to transport your tastebuds to Asia.. We are definitely going back and taking more...

We had date night for restaurant week here, where you prebook and a set menu is provided. Ie. For hours they knew our order and arrival time. First and foremost I cannot praise the waiting staff enough. They are attentive, care about their level of customer service and are really empathetic.

The cocktails were amazing, and it took 1 hour for our starters to arrive. It then took 1 hour and 30 minutes for our mains to arrive(although mains were requested as we finished starters). When it arrived the duck was cold and not edible. The 2 pieces of beef ribs were 5cms long and 1 piece was 90% cold fat. The beef steak felt like it just came out the fridge. .. please remember this was restaurant week so a. They knew we were coming and what we were eating and that this was a combination of selections from their main menu.

When we complained about the delay we were told it was our fault by the manager that we didn't tell the waiter the term “fire it up” soon enough. I'm shocked that for a meal well north of R1,000 for 2 people that we got cold food, in-edible ribs and had to wait 1-1.5 hours for each course.

The only reason I give 2 stars is because the waiters and bartender were sublime.

While the starters, drinks and waiters were great I don't see us coming back.

The 20% discount felt like a cop out by management, especially since ate less than 25% of our main meal as it was cold, sub par and we were tired; while the waiters seemed more apologetic...

Popped in here about 2 weeks back on a whim for a quick dinner on a Friday. Very inviting space , aesthetic etc. Our waiter was polite enough if not a bit hovering.. but no harm done. Only issue was on the evening there was an extremely loud group , we eventually moved seats to try and get away from the noise and it barely helped and even with staff being aware of this they never intervened on behalf of the rest of the customers in the restaurant- we were not the only people who had were struggling to hear over the loud group. Food was good . Shared fish and chicken dishes . Bao bun was also very tasty . Cocktails were prettier than they were tasty but the fanfare was cute with the tea pot etc . Decent stop if you’re looking for Asian fusion type in a pretty...

Visited chunky Chau during restaurant week , which is important to note. The service was impeccable could find no fault in it. The cocktails were delicious with a pleasant ambiance and really enjoyed the open feel of the list with the glass doors opened allowing for god circulation of fresh air. The food unfortunately was mediocre or maybe just not fit for my palate , but again I was tasting their restaurant week meal so quality control may have been slightly off when making multiple of the same dishes continuously… so I will slow some grace there. Still an overall pleasant experience.
