We had a great meal at Hon Won after a long bus ride from Kruger National Park to Johannesburg. Initially I was leery about the 4- reviews. A customer complained about the lack of vegetarian dishes and gave it a one star. It’s not fair. Either he didn’t his glasses or didn’t ask the server. Lady boss 芝姐recommended the soup and white cells, both were exceptional. The chow fun 干炒牛河,bitter melon were comparable to many places in Asia or N America. The beef stew was slightly salty and on the tough side. Steamed chicken was a bit over cooked. Tofu disk was okay. They were all four stars dishes. The sautéed vegetables were fresh and crispy. I called the restaurant to share a feedback with the hope that they might looking into their packaging materials but they tried to blame it on the uber rider. Hope they will take feedback and try to improve packaging.
Have ordered twice today, food is really good. The curry option( Bitter leaf soup) portion was little in relation to the swallow that comes with it. It was the same case with the ofada rice and ofada sauce. Might be a better experience dining in. Looking forward to the dine...
