I dont do reviews, but this was honestly the "Best Birthday Dinner Ever." What an exceptional time.
We was immediately greeted with smile's. Told we was getting "The Best Seat In The House" which my opinion it was. Unless you a introvert. Our waiter was hands down the best person I've ever had serve me. He took care of us, going above and beyond his call of duty.
The decor was modern and fitted the theme of the restaurant very well. Great for business parties too I think. The bar is well equipped with any drink you might have a craving for. And the outside pool area is beautiful, but I advise not booking the outside if you have kids because people smoke and it might have a negative impact on them and you. PLEASANT DECOR.
Food was amazing, we ordered; • (Stuffed Calamari "Highly recommend") , • (Mussels with a creamy sauce "My dad literally devoured this, haha.") • (Tiger Eye Sushi "was pricey, but I can highly recommend. Was probably the best sushi I've ever had") • (Mozambique Prawns "Was lovely recommend") • (KingKlip Special "Will be abit rich for most people but I really enjoyed it. The smoked salmon placed ontop was delicious, did come with sides, I chose grilled vegetables, I was given a stir fry thing and it paired amazing with the fish tbh so no complaints.") • (Chateaubriand "At first I was skeptical about the size of the steak but it ended up filling my brother to the point he couldn't even finish it. Was cooked perfectly too.") • (Creme Brulee "Was good, though I didn't like the taste of the thyme that much, but my dad seemed to enjoy it so maybe it's an enquired taste.") • (Chocolate Fondant " Was decadent, the vanilla ice cream was delicious and the strawberry sauce paired with it was a perfect pair. My mom literally obliterated it while I wasn't looking haha.") • (Birthday Cupcake w Ice cream "This was absolutely special. Cupcake tasted fresh and when eaten with the ice cream was surprisingly tasty.") GREAT FOOD.
Finally as we walked out, we was literally sent off by every single staff member telling us "Thank you, with such passionate smiles." GREAT SERVICE.
As you can see my overall experience was blessed. I cannot recommend this place enough. Everyone's experience may vary, but mine was fantastic. I thank God for really having His way on my special day.
Thank you CodFather. And my...
Read moreNice place. Good food. Good atmosphere and an experience never to forget. Almost hidden in Sandton this is a must visit for any food connoisseur. Has a butchery onsite to choose the freshest seafood and you can ask the chef to prepare as to your requirements. Colourful, tasty and well worth the price.... and they have sushi and cocktails. UPDATE - 20 Sept 2019 - 800km trip from Durban via Pta with high expectations for my better half bday. Started off well, a little rushed by the waiter but I believe he was still learning, kitchen took a chance with the scallops but luckily the Manager saved the day, really fair person and honest as well. 1 star lost but it could have been worse. We will return but the holes need to be filled but I'm sure they will do it. Tapas still tops, ask for the secret brownie dessert - see pic. UPDATE - 27 April 2023 - expectations high as we brought long time friends to one of our favorite restaurants, we were severely disappointed. Service was better but 2 meals were very questionable. Crayfish overcooked and wrong sushi served. I'm not sure what's happening at the Sandton branch but owner attention is needed as we even witnessed other disappointed patrons. 2 stars lost as I didn't even bother to order a main due to the above and other quality issues, we had a less than amazing experience but we would return as we believe the owners can fix...
Read moreProbably one of the worst meals I have experienced. Staff are horribly under trained with zero knowledge of the food they are serving. We had tapas as a starter and then the 3 of us a main each. The tapas served was dry, uninteresting and tasteless. Chilly lime prawns drowned in a tomato sauce, rubbery calamari, old whitebait and halloumi cheese that was like a rubbery fish finger. Mains were a Sole (that had the whole top section discoloured and off). This was thankfully taken off the bill. Calamari and chips that were sent back as both were ice cold. The third main was a chicken Caesar salad that was a jumbled mash of mess. The lettuce was old and bitter and cut into thin strips like a coleslaw, the croutons served were so hard and old that you could have used them to shoot intruders with a catapult. The only thing that they couldn’t screw up was Heineken draught which was the only draught available. So frustrating was the meal that we asked for a Cappuccino to go, which was served with at least 2 spoons of sugar. This was promptly given to the car Gaurd. This is my second visit to this restaurant and both visits have had issues. They will never see my patronage again and unfortunately I give them 1 star as a result not knowing how to give half a star.
Please note that this review goes to the Codfather...
