Was traveling from Cape Town on business and after a long day I decided to make dinner plans with a friend I hadn't seen in years at a nice Italian restaurant that wasn't too crowded. However after arriving at 8pm we were the only customers in the place and were rushed into ordering by the staff, to the point where the manager approached us and quite tactlessly said the kitchen would close (Within the next 40+ min) so if we wanted food we would need to order. It was not a problem to be notified of this, however it was unnecessarily abrupt and the manager seemed quite annoyed that new customers had walked in when, from what I saw, it looked like they were planning on closing early. She then proceeded to laugh it off and then hover around the table as though I was supposed to place my order that very moment. I had to make a point of saying thank you, I will decide shortly. It was my first time eating at an Italian restaurant as it is not my favorite cuisine, and it took me a few minutes to go through the extensive menu. Later the staff then proceeded to start packing up around us. I was sadly disappointed by this interaction and was feeling quite irritated by the service as we left.
Apart from the bad hospitality, the food was lovely and our orders were correct. It's a decent place for an evening meal (if you arrive early) and being in a small shopping square there is a lot of parking available later in the day. I assume it must get quite busy during popular shopping times.

Read moreOur evening started well. Our started was delicious and the children enjoyed their pizza. Unfortunately that is where it ended. My husband is vegan and we were very impressed with the plant based menu selection. However, when we were ready to order nothing except a burger for him was available. The waitress recommended the steaks on the menu. My mother ordered the rib eye medium to rare. She received it well done with it not looking even close to the image shown in the menu. I ordered a salad only to be served vegetable chips that tasted way past the expiry date. Within the first 2 bites I realised my food or at least the chips in my salad was without a doubt off. It tasted horrible. A man with two other waiters came to our table to tell me there was nothing wrong with my food and that I was wrong. I was so shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated. I don't think I have ever sent food back and I am not a fussy eater. I have often eaten vegetables chips and I really enjoy them. I know what they are suppose to taste like and to be served something that you can clearly taste is off and then to be told that I am wrong. Read moremy wife and I had our date day yesterday and everything was going great. Unfortunately a few things ended up messing up our evening. My Coffee had alot of undrinkable coffee grounds in the bottom of it Snails tasted delicious but ended up finding a hair in it.
Both not such a big deal till my Rump trinchado arrived, flavours were amazing but the steak was cooked beyond well done, half of it was covered in unchewable fat. Called the manager and her answer was "Thats just how our rump is", this comment was alarming to their quality standards in the kitchen. we continued to argue how bad the meat was cooked and how the supplier gives them bad meat, we argued so long that I couldnt even finish my meal, sent it back on principal and didnt pay for it because of the lazy excuses the manager was giving on why its bad instead of just saying "sorry, we will fix it" not "its a common complaint we have".
